Is this good for gold and silver?

Yes, I dipped my silver for 10 seconds gave a light brush and it came up like new. I also have a Victorian gold platinum and diamond ring which has brought up really well after just a few seconds.....

Does it work on brass?

No this is not suitable for brass. Try Hagerty Copper Brass & Bronze Polish.

Is this ok to use with semi precious stones ?

I use it on all my jewellery including rings with stones in them
