It won’t get serious stains out though, pre-treat those before putting them in. **Q: Do I need to add a preservative to keep a handmade bottle of handsoap fresh? i.e not essential oils** A: Not if you’re using just plain Castile soap with or without essential oils, but as soon as you add other ingredients like water/floral water, aloe gel etc, you then introduce the chance of bacteria growing. Having said that, your Castile soap-mix will still last a long time even with water based products added.
