Stored yes but used no, unless you just want to heat the back of the sofa.

Def not 1.9 kilos! Very heavy to lift!

If you turn it off at the plug, and then turn it on again it will go to standby mode, and not either manual mode, or timer mode. So it is not possible to control this device remotely using a smart plug.
