STERIO 4K 2880x2160/P24 Dash Cam with Wi-Fi, GPS, 170 Degree Ultra Wide Angle, 2.4" LCD Dashboard Camera with G-Sensor, WDR, Loop Recording, Night Vision, Parking Mode, Motion Detection

I used a Goluk camera for a while after they fixed some issues with the app, but I live in Wisconsin, and all winter it wouldn't work, and I got tired of hearing "Goluk" as it got into nonstop reboot loops due to the temperatures.I wanted something with Wifi so I could copy to phone as needed though. I tried another manufacturer's product prior to this, similar size and features, and they sent me a used model with a broken mount, obviously someone's return. That's when I found this one.It was easy to set up and get running. Plenty of cord length to run around the window under the trim. And I've been able to consistently connect via wireless and copy a file when needed, but it's really, REALLY slow, many times slower than the Goluk was, so it's really not a viable option here. Just plan on taking the card out and plugging into a computer if you need something from it.Video quality is nice though, it's unobtrusive, and all winter and now into spring, hasn't come off the window once.I like the field of view, and that the screen turns off after a bit.Not bad for the price. Just wish they had faster wireless transfer speeds. Had I known it was this slow I would've selected a different product since the slow speed makes the wireless feature hardly a feature.

Not 4k. Has vertical resolution of 4k, BUT (!) with an image sensor that has an aspect ratio of 4:3 and optics that are 170 degrees by 100 is close enough to 16x9 aspect ratio. If 170 =16 then 100 would be far less than 4k resolution, more like 2.5k with the marketing dept spin on REALITY.Works good so far and was easy to setup. We'll see how long it lasts. I live in South Florida its winter now lol 80 degrees winter, but summer starts April here and the sun has a way of frying most electronics left exposed.

I enjoyed this camera, for the three days that it worked.The quality of the video is phenomenal, the lens also was able to capture minute details of what was around me.The audio was a bit lackluster, but that was a non-issue.The GPS worked great, recording speed and location on the video-The mobile app/built in wifi was hit or miss, I wasn't able to get it to connect on my phone, but I'm not docking points for that.After three days of owning the camera, it broke; I had it hardwired into my car, and when I would start my car up, the camera would start, but then the video would flicker with some visual glitches, and the device would freeze, requiring me to hold the power button until it turned off.I was unable to get the device working again, just freezing upon startup;I've returned it to Amazon, hopefully my device was just a fluke, but otherwise when it is working, this is a wonderful dashcam.

Update 1/6/18Although I had bad luck with my camera, I have to say customer service from the seller was excellent and quick. The camera had great features and worked well. However, I couldn't get it to stay attached. It worked fine for about a day or two after a professional installation job from the Geek Squad at Best Buy. Then I went to my car and found it hanging by the cable. After cleaning my windshield again and again, and trying to reattach it over and over, I gave up. I didn't think I would be allowed to return the unit and get credit, because I had paid for the professional installation ($75), and kept the cable in my car for an older model dash cam that belonged to a friend. But a company representative saw my review and contacted me immediately, and I sent back the camera without the cable and was issued a full refund very quickly.Perhaps I was simply unlucky and got a unit with a weaker mount. I noticed the vast majority of reviews were positive with 4 and 5 stars, and I didn't see anyone else complain about the same problem. Since the seller quickly remedied my complaint, I will change my review from one star to 4. If it had stayed attached, I may have given it 5 stars, but at least the seller didn't leave me losing out of about $95 when I think they easily could have denied me a refund.This is the third dash cam I've bought off of Amazon. The camera itself seemed high quality. Unfortunately, the suction cup mount is very weak and the unit would not stay attached to my windshield. I wrote the seller for suggestions and was sent a picture of how to move the lever to create suction. (Duh). I'm afraid I will have to take a $100 hit on this one. I had had the unit professionally installed by Best Buy, hard wired to the fuse box, not the cigarette lighter, and wiring very discreet. I was able to leave the wiring and connect an an older model dashcam that my friend had, also bought from Amazon made by OldShark. That unit is more basic, without wifi or GPS, but its suction cup mount is much stronger and doesn't come unattached. Since it works with the same wiring, I would either have to pay Best Buy again to take out the cable and rewire another unit, or send the old wiring back to Sterio, so I don't see it as worth the trouble. I know many people install cams themselves but I didn't think I would do as well and thought it was worth the $75. Since that's almost what the camera cost, I don't see it as worth it to send it back.I'm surprised I didn't see other reviews complaining about the lack of suction. I had maybe two days of use before it came undone and wouldn't reattach, so I didn't get much experience with the unit to review all its features. I do remember being confused about out to download the GPS tracker and then playback the videos.

It started out fine but quickly died. The manufacturer has been, thus far, untraceable.

This STERIO 170 Degreen is the BEST!!! I decided to purchase this and give it a try. I was not disappointed!!!! VERY EASY to set up and operate. The camera itself works excellently, both at night and during the day。The camera its great perfect size for dash cam and its so sharp and clean colors。
