I'm not a chef, I don't know a good knife from a bad one. I don't know which knife I'm supposed to use for a particular task.I basically use chef knife for everything.Good value, havent rusted or got dull yet.They all feel fine.I think Id have preferred the wood grain block instead of black, but don't think you get a choice. Certain blocks come with certain sets.I don't have a dish washer so I can't tell you if that would ruin them. I hand wash everything and make sure they are dry before returning to block.I feel that I got more than my money's worth.

This knife set looks great and the quality is impressive, especially for the price. Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I broke up, and when we were dividing our stuff, she insisted on keeping this set. That’s how good it is. I might end up buying another one soon…

Purchased as a gift; very nice appearance and the knives are sharp. A fair value for the money. Think I'll rub the knife block with salad bowl finish oil, which should make it waterproof and protect blades well.

Decided to change from a countertop to drawer set to minimize visual impact. This set is sleek and fits right into my drawer. So far very sharp with a good variety of knives that I will use. I’m not the biggest fan of plastic handles, makes them a little lightweight. It goes well with the CAROTE utensil bundle that I bought. I’m happy for now.

This is a beautiful knife set. The knives are very sharp and work great! I love Carote! I have their pot and pan set with the detachable handle, as well as their silicone utensil set! I have not been disappointed by a Carote product yet. They have beautiful, efficient products. I have had this product for a month so far with daily use. Knives are still sharp with no signs of rusting.

But don’t be fooled by the sleek design—these knives are seriously sharp.I learned that the hard way after doing the (not-so-wise) “finger test”—let’s just say I won’t be trying that again anytime soon! Once I got past that lesson, I put the bread knife to proper use on a fresh loaf of homemade sourdough and was blown away. It sliced through the crusty exterior like butter—easily the cleanest, smoothest cut I've ever had with a bread knife.The set includes every knife you’ll need for daily cooking, and every piece feels well-balanced and solid in hand. If you want a knife set that looks as good as it performs, this one’s a winner.

Great set! Knives are very clean in appearance and great size. They are very sharp! All of them cut through smoothly. For the price, I'd definitely buy again or as a gift for someone wanting a new set.
