This cooker is intended for use in Japan only. This may or may not be a problem for users outside Japan. It is rated at 100V and U.S. Voltage is 110V. This being a fairly high wattage appliance may present overheating problems for some. To be absolutely sure you can get a voltage converter (from 100V to 110V). Amazon has quite a few, just be sure to read the customer reviews and ratings carefully, there's a lot of junk out there. We have ordered one, and I will finish this review when it comes and we make our first rice.
