After using many massage tools- rollers, balls, theracane, this is my new favorites for trigger points

I didn’t realize it would be so hard so I’m knocking off one point as I thought it would be a little softer based on foam rollers I’ve purchased. But it works to get spots that are harder to get with roller. It helped me already, but I’m going to search for another one that’s not so hard for areas that require more gentleness.

Perfect for some spots that require a more targeted area of therapy that a traditional foam roller would be hard to use. I found this to be really great for targeting calves, IT band areas, and high in the back. This provides much more control than a larger foam roll that I use. The textured surface is nice and the foam is very dense. I have a padded gym floor that I use this on primarily and it works great, may be a little more difficult with a hard surface.

I fell in love with this thing within minutes. I rubbed it across my shoulders and the back of my neck, instantly finding sore spots in muscles I hadn't known were sore. Then I tried lying on the floor and rolling the ball under my back and legs -- more of the same. Now I hurt all over, but it's the good kind of pain that comes from exercising when you're out of shape or getting a much-needed massage. While some reviewers have said the ball is too hard, I think opinions will come down to whether you're the type of person who prefers a light touch or more pressure. I'm the "deep tissue, please" type, so this is for me. Also unlike some others reviewers, I don't encounter any difficulty rolling the ball wherever I want it. I am a small-framed woman. The ball, which is unremarkable looking, is lightweight and fits neatly into one hand. I don't know why it's described as "foam" (maybe inside?). The exterior is hard and textured; somehow the bumps just go where they're needed. I appreciate that something so simple can make a big difference.

I like the size but it's too hard and hurts

Very nice size massage ball, and very firm as well. If you're new to using one of these things, go slow and gently! Definitely helps loosen me up and gets in really deep. Great addition to my home gym.

I don't know what makes these lumps of foam so pricey, but anyway this ball gets the job done. Given the small size and firm shape, it's best for those spots that need a strong push - the ridges have a little give to them but as a whole it's pretty hard. It's also very light, so easy to put away on a shelf or toss into a bin without worrying about breaking anything.
