Setting it up was so easy and took less than 2 minutes. The Bluetooth connectivity paired almost immediately with my phone. I was able to print up a sticker almost immediately (after it was charged of course). I was surprised and happy that it comes with three rolls of paper, more than enough for a few projects. With the help of the booklet and the app I played around with many templates. I did get a bit distracted creating my own stickers. It was so easy to design and print that I got a bit carried away. I was surprised how quick it was to print, but the best part was the quality and clear images. The print quality is impressive for such a compact device. For the price I was very pleased with the quality. The fact that it is so easy to print from your phone is a major plus. The image is clearer than my regular printer in my office. Is it value for money? For the features and quality you get then yes! It’s not cheap but not overly expensive. I believe the price of the Nelko PM230 is very reasonable. If you want a personal sticker printer then this is perfect. You can see it is made well and high quality. The fact that it’s portable is such a bonus. I would definitely recommend it.

This is an edit of my prior review. After spending more time using my printer, I raised my rating to 5 stars, because besides making the useful waterproof labels for which I bought the printer, I've learned it does its templates and similar images I transferred quite well. It has a reasonably short learning curve and ample helpful videos, and though the majority of the templates seem geared toward children, many of the others can be edited or created easily enough for other purposes. The paper size is 54mm, in pre-loaded sticker roll cartridges, which hold 14 continuous feet of sticker paper. I'd like more paper type options (colored and non-sticker) and will explore whether the widely available 53mm options might also work in this printer if similar Nelko options don't become available, but the Nelko white sticker paper is good quality and presently affordable. As I'd mentioned before, If you're headed into med school, don't take the educational templates seriously as there are misspellings (see heart pic) and mislabeling of body parts. But for less critical needs, this thermal printer does enough things well and affordably to make it useful for many purposes, it is fun, and is certainly very easy to learn to use.

I went ahead and purchased this thermal printer because I bought something else from this brand and think it’s a decent company. First, I don’t think the quality of printing is much different from thermal printer to thermal printer. The shading and clarity was the same for both my cheaper device and this one. After using it for a while, occasionally I noticed some inconsistency in the printing. Some things would print out with lines. Or with no image at all. Just a glitchy looking background. The first time it happens, you have to restart the printer. It won’t fix itself if you keep reprinting. It’s happened just a few times to me. The majority of the prints are fine. The materials used to make this printer are good quality. Even expensive looking. Like a Kodak. The app is definitely better than my other printer. It was easy to set up. Just make sure you go to your App Store and download. THEN you can pair the device through the app. It was quick. Charge the printer FIRST. I was able to use my cheap sticker paper rolls in this. You just have to hold onto the original cartridge that holds the paper. It clicks into the printer but can be refilled with something cheap. Overall I really love this printer. I subtracted 1 star because of the inconsistency with printing. Again, it doesn’t happen very often so I can live with it. I would recommend!

Absolutely love this printer! Travels well and I use it when I need a sentiment for a card that I don’t have a stamp for! It also prints in b&w pictures and makes cute mini coloring pictures!

It works exactly as advertised. The printers connects easily via Bluetooth and the app is decent. I print stickers for my logo on the fly and on the highest "DPI" print the logo is clear. It can only do B/W but its what its designed to do. The technology uses no ink so never have to worry about refilling. The 3 rolls it comes with will last a while and the glue is gooood. Sticks strongly to any surface so apply correctly the first time.

I love this little machine! It’s fun, easy to use and super practical! The design is compact so it’s easy to take anywhere. I love that it fits anywhere and doesn’t take up space, but the best part is that this requires NO INK!!! The set up was super easy to and not time consuming at all! Easily connects to your phone and the printing is extremely fast! It’s easy to get the hang of using it. You have to download the app and use it through that app. But the app has fun little extras that you can add to your designs. I ordered this to take pictures of what’s inside boxes in my garage. Placing them as picture labels, for fast and easy find! The pictures only print in black and white and are ONLY Stickers! But the roll does give quite a bit of pictures. The quality is pretty decent for the price and for what I need it to do!

So, I suppose I'll start with the positives: Color (light purple) is as shown. App was a relatively easy setup and you do not need to be logged in to use it. Paper wasn't too hard to insert. I haven't had any connection issues. However, the bad far outweighs the good. Not only is it sometimes hard to tear off the "sticker" and no matter how careful OR forceful or anything in between I am or what angle I try from I can rarely get a straight line, but it sometimes crumples the paper still inside, so that the next sticker will be creased. It's abysmal at printing lettering, something that thermal printers have been doing for decades now. No matter what combination of settings I do on it, the lettering still has very noticeable flaws. The actual choices for other paper are basically non-existent, as when I realized the tearing was so awful I started looking into just getting normal labels and realized that all the things that come up for it in searches aren't actually compatible because of the weird proprietary roll design. In the app, you can either see what's free OR actually filter/sort options when it comes to things like icons, fonts, etc., so using the free stuff means you have to look through a whole bunch of options that aren't anything like what you want. I debated giving it two stars as I appreciated not having to login to the app to use it, however upon further thought the proprietary paper rolls and poor print quality just can't be excused. I know this is a fairly cheap device, but the registers at work can print better lettering than this and they're not being purchased to make good looking receipts.

The Nelko thermal sticker printer was definitely an impulse buy, but a good one. I’ve had one of those basic old-school label makers for what feels like forever, so it was time to upgrade to something that didn’t require archaeological excavation to find replacement cartridges. The companion app takes a couple of minutes to figure out, but all the basic functions make sense quickly. One of my favorite parts is how easily it prints images—I’ve already been feeding it black-and-white designs created by AI, and as shown in the attached photos, it handles them without issue. The printer uses heat-sensitive labels (affected by heat, not cold), so freezer storage is no problem. Coming from a battery-eating label maker that ran on six AAA batteries, the internal rechargeable battery on this thing feels luxurious. Bluetooth connection is fast, printing is quick, and it comes with three rolls of continuous stickers. If the math checks out, that’s nine meters of stickers right out of the box. Replacement rolls run about $20 for the same quantity, and you can get them in transparent, blue, pink, and purple. Lots of fun customization options. One surprisingly helpful design feature: the label rolls can only be inserted one specific way because of the built-in guides on the sides. You physically can’t mess it up. Roll changes take seconds, and there’s no guessing which direction the paper feeds. This is a very easy 5-star product to recommend.
