CICA-Care Silicone Gel Sheet 12 x 15 Centimetre | Improves The Appearance of Scars

This silicone gel sheet is the highest quality you can find. It can be pricey, but it is worth the money! I had a surgery which left me 10 inch surgical site. I waited two weeks and starting using this product. It is soft and flexible, and you can cut this sheet into any size you want. It has an adhesive side, however since you have to wash this silicone sheet the adhesive over time will not be as the same when it was bought. However this can be easily fixed with transparent film dressing applied on top of the silicone. This silicone can be used at any stage of the scar wether it is new or old. It can prevent and reduce raised scars. Additionally it will reduce redness of the scar significantly. I highly recommend this product to anyone who has an old scar or anyone who is planning a surgery, it is a must in your arsenal.

I have had a knee replacement after car accident so my scars are larger than normal. I have just started using these now my scar has healed and it's great. Much thicker and more durable than expected and easy to wash and reuse. I cut the strip in half so it would cover my whole scar length ways. No itching from the scar and the strips stay on well. I highly recommend and I will keep using for as long as needed. They are clear, and don't hurt to remove at all unlike a plaster.

I was looking for something to use on a small area of the face, but unfortunately this product isn’t suitable for that. The sheets are quite thick, and when cut into smaller pieces they don’t stick well and are very noticeable. The product itself seems good quality overall, probably better suited for larger areas on the body rather than the face.

Had top surgery 2 months ago and my surgeon urged these as the best way to cap the overproduction of collagen as the scars knit together and repair themselves I’ve got Caribbean heritage which means I’m more prone to keloid scarring - thicker, wider scars due to the overproduction of collagen. There’s a guide on the cica-care guide that explains how they work and how to better use them that my surgeon sat me down and talked me through! I would highly recommend reading it as its very valuable, esp in terms of duration of wear and how to build up the tolerance! I initially built up use and could feel them working - the scars initially felt more sensitive for the first few hours of use. But after a couple of weeks of building them up I just slap them on when I remember. The adhesion does reduce, but it’s been about 7 weeks and it’s only curling up at the edges - which is sorted with little bits of microporous tape! Which is how I strap the tape down to sleep in, as that’s a longer time period to wear them without having to stay aware of them. One thing I LOVE is that I noticed that when I’ve slept funny or slightly stretched the scars, it seemed to result in small patches of scar tissue that seemed more prominent- harder, thicker, raised slightly in bump away from the skin - I’ve slapped a strip on overnight and the next day the scars have FLATTENED. The white collagen-heavy scars have reduced and gone pink and flat (which is better to control the aesthetics of the healed scar). I would definitely recommend these. I think a bit of patience is needed as results aren’t instantaneous. I will expect to wear these for another 1-2 months at least until my scars seem to even out with collagen production. In terms of how much is in a pack: I have a thick strip I haven’t used from the original pack left, and have taken 5 thick strips from it that I’ve regularly used (& washed & reused!). I do expect to buy another pack, maybe in a couple of weeks, but I don’t necessarily think I would *need* to. More so I don’t have to continue adding tape to the ends and I know that whatever medical magic is topped up!

Recommended this by my Physio to aid scar tissue recovery but fiddly to use and very itchy against the palm of my hand (where the scar is).

Bought this to protect skin on stomach, under lower part of ostomy bag, from friction. The skin had been noticably red and irritated. We bojght another silicone strip product and they were excellent but as this is a larger area than one of the strips would cover and would need long term protection I needed to find something larger and more durable. I looked at these Silicone Gel patches and they seemed ideal. Having now built up to 22hr (I could wear 24 but like to take off for 1 or 2 hrs each day)wear they are even better than J could have hoped.Didn't have any broken or open skin but this has I believe prevented it becoming irritated and I know it feels better and the colour of the skin is much better. Pro's 1 skin is much improved 2 they are easy to wash, dry and handle 3 it covers the whole area 4 I just bought another so i can have one on and one off. Con's Bit thicker than other products I tried . But easier to handle.

It looks well-made, the packaging is similar to medical grade products. However, I agree with previous reviews, it is very thick and comes off easily, which means you can't sleep with it, nor can you wear it during the day. In terms of softening scars and reducing redness, it doesn't seem to be as visibly effective as other silicon sheets I've used.

Recommended by my therapist for scar treatment, along with massage therapy. This has been a success. Can cut to size if required and really does what it says it does on the label - sticks every time (I use it at night) and with a wash it's back to new again. Really effective, easy to use.
