If you are working on DIY soap this is best. The crystals are in small sizes which helped in easy dissolving. Good quality value for money and easy of use because of size.

I didn't get this for making soap...though it will end up being used for that by my son who does make soap. I got this to use to open up the traps in my girls bathroom. Young ladies with long hair can really clog up the works and they tend not to say anything until extraordinary measures need to be taken. I remember my father using this stuff back when I was little and shared a bathroom with 2 older sisters, so I thought I'd give it a shot as the other drain cleaners didn't do the trick. This material did work better than the liquid drain cleaner, but I needed to treat the pipes multiple times (instructions say if it doesn't work after 2 tries, call a plumber) but I did it a couple of times every other day for a week and it did improve the drainage but not as much as I had hoped. Just be careful when using this lye. I wore a long sleeve shirt, used nitrile gloves and safety glasses to avoid getting any on me or anything else...you just want it going down the drain, The instructions say not to use it with any other chemicals, which seems like a good idea. I'm no chemist and imagine of these drain cleaners are dangerous if not used properly. Mixing them is a bad idea...so before I try the other cleaners again, I'll give it plenty of time for this to completely wash out of the system.

Seems like very good lye. I’m using it to make cold processed soap. Worked great for my first batch very happy with this

Had the proper reaction with the distilled water, and soap got up to trace with it. Soap is curing fine. No issues with the soap chemically, so all in all, good lye, no notes.

Our stink had the worst smell coming from it! Draino and other products did nothing. This stuff, some water and a plunger worked amazing! It was our last resort and no more smell! WORKS AMAZING!
