Is there an estimated or expected storage life for Bic lighters? In other words, If packed in survival kit, do they store/last 5 years?

The BIC® Lighter design is quite robust, and every BIC® Lighter meets or exceeds all voluntary standards and legal requirements. Extreme conditions, however, may affect the performance of the lighter. Store away from heat and sources of ignition.

Why is shipping so many day's?

I so happen to be an expert on shipping information. The first CEO of the mfg facility I was in the sales department as well as accounting, and he explained to me of you don’t understand shipping (freight) you’ll never make it. I learned from commodities, freight classifications, lead time, emergencies (weather) rail cars, siding, and much more. Therefore when I place an order with Amazon I know what I’m ordering & if I needed it sooner than what I was told I would deal with it. If the other way around and you said one day and couldn’t deliver, let’s say I had wedding shower to attend. I therefore needed the gift (my fault so late) so I needed to purchase somewhere else & was a whole big inconvenience. So when the unit comes from Amazon either I’ll gift it to our son, or unfortunately must send back. Now that’s freight.
