I bought this back in Oct. of 2018. I don't remember where it was shipped from. I received them in 2 days so it wasn't out of the U.S. I actually bought 2 and love them. We have one on each side of our night stand in the bedroom to hang clothes on.

Q: Is this suitable for outdoor use? I am thinking of buying for an outdoor towel rack for my hot tub.

We bought this rack for exactly the same purpose that you want to. It is on our patio, but the patio is enclosed. However, there is no conditioning or heat on the patio and the rack has stood up well. We really like it because it works for the large towels we have.
