I tend to favor products, especially so-called beauty products, that have few ingredients but high quality ones. This face mask from India is now definitely one of them that I will be using going forward.My work is often pressured and the result is that I can come home with that pressure. The problem is, of course, that my body does not get the down time it needs to recharge. So I began a nightly routine of meditation or quiet time in an alcove in my home that is fitted out with lovely art, a very comfortable chair and ottoman and a sense of deep privacy. When this mask arrived a couple of weeks ago, I decided to incorporate it into my routine on Friday nights to make the relaxing ritual even more special.What I found in this fuller’s earth clay powder has astonished and delighted me to the max. It is a fine powder and mixes easily with water. I pat it all over my face, avoiding the eyes as directed, and take myself to my meditation chair. About twenty minutes later, I return to the bathroom to rinse it off with warm water. It comes off easily, leaving behind a softness and unusually clean feeling.I am way past the pimples and blackhead stage and my skin is on the dry side but I found this pampered my skin. What I would also like to try is in my hair care routine but I see no instructions on how to do that so I will reserve it for my weekly meditation.While I did try a test patch I found no problems. I believe this has to do with the simplicity of ingredients, of which I am extremely appreciative. Simple is always, always better—and this company has earned my loyalty for giving me just that.Definitely highly recommended.

A very fine, soft powder clay. Don't mistake this for aztec clay (or bentonite). While similar, they are different. Multani mitti (also called fuller’s earth) offers a host of benefits for the skin, like reducing oil, fighting acne thanks to the magnesium chloride, balancing and brightening skin tone and reducing pigmentation. I like to use as a spot treatment for acne by adding a very small amount of powder to water to create a paste. You can also add neem or tea tree oil to it. Since multani mitti is extremely absorbent, those with dry skin may want to skip masks and treatments with this but quick face washes might be ok for exfoliation. Caution if you have sensitive skin.Bonus recipe:Moisturizing mask:1 tbsp. Multani mitti1 tbsp. aloe vera gelMix ingredients. Apply to clean, dry face and leave for 10 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water and pat dry.Fun Fact:During World War II, fuller’s earth was mixed with water and applied to feet to reduce inflammation.

You might or might not have realized by now how much more cost-effective it is to buy dry ingredients for facial masks, as opposed to paying for pre-mixed ingredients + water.I prefer to buy ingredients and mix my own masks / skincare products for several reasons. For one, I can control the ingredients and the quantity thereof at any given time.If you also prefer to mix your own, then this MokuMoka clay is a great main, or even sole, ingredient. It does just what one would hope for clay to do in a facial mask.

Years ago I used an expensive clay-based cleanser to balance my oily/combination skin. This fuller’s earth from MokuMoka has the same look, scent, and feel of that cleanser and is a much better value. I mix about two teaspoons of powder with a tablespoon of water in a small cup to make a paste and then smooth it onto my nose, forehead, and chin, avoiding the delicate skin around my eyes. (The yellowish color is definitely weird looking but that’s typical of clay masks in general.) After about 15 minutes but before it’s completely dried , I use a wet washcloth and warm water to remove the clay. I love the way my skin looks and feels after using the clay, and it seems like my moisturizer absorbs into my skin better because it is so clean. I keep the opened bag of clay powder in the original plastic bag with a clip to keep it closed, and then put that into the zip-close pouch with the instructions on the back.

This earth clay mixed up well and was easy to apply. After use my skin felt cleansed and I could see my pores looked and felt clearer. I’d been looking for a deep pore clarifier and this is it. A great value for the package and I’m very pleased with this product.

This clay mask mixed easily with water, I left it to dry on the face for 20 mins, then rinsed with warm water.My face really did feel so fresh and clean, was worried it might leave my skin too dry, but glad to report it felt soft and moisturised. Liked the product very much, would recommend.

Pure and natural clay powder. It works well to clear pores and fix oily skin. I also mix this with sandalwood powder to create a better facial pack. This Mitti powder is a great addition to skin maintenance/hygiene. Like it. Nice product.
