Works Well for an Elderly Cat
I needed a waterless shampoo for my cat. Ike is 16, suffers from Feline Diabetes, and has arthritis, which makes it really hard for him to bathe himself. He has started to pee on his back legs and feet due to not being able to squat like he used to in the litter box. I was using pet wipes, but I felt like he needed something more substantial to get his back end clean. I found this product while searching for vet-approved shampoos. I wasn't sure if Ike would let me use it since it was a foam and would make his fur wet (he doesn't like it when I use water on him). The product arrived quickly and was easy to use. I have since bathed him several times, and I am amazed that he doesn't seem to mind it. What has worked for me is to use rubber gloves (I use nitrile gloves). I spray the foam on my hand first. Then, I just rub the shampoo into his fur. I do it as if he were getting a massage. I focus on his feet, and he loves it when I scrub between his toes. He literally stretches his back legs out to let me massage them. Once I feel I have put enough shampoo on, I use a brush and brush out any of the sticky mess. Finally, I just use a cloth to wipe him down. The shampoo does not cause excessive wetness, but sometimes I have to put extra on to get his feet clean. I don't want him to slip on the floor if he decides he has had enough of the spa treatment. In all, this shampoo has a nice smell, does a good job cleaning his fur, and for the money, offers a safe and non-stressful way to keep my elderly gentleman smelling fresh. I will definitely buy this product again.

Amazing product - worked well to eradicate both matting and dandruff
Our 12 year old cat has a double coat and as he got older he was getting lazier and lazier about grooming. Over time, he started becoming increasingly matted and then also began to develop very bad dandruff which was super apparent as his coat is normally a shiny black. Brushing was a nightmare, especially around the base of his tail, where the majority of the mattes were concentrated. It was also apparent that the skin in the area must have been irritated which combing near to only caused more discomfort. For months, I used one of these comb/cutter devices that actually do a pretty good job of removing a cat's undercoat. But though I could remove the mattes with this cutting comb, it was only at great discomfort to the cat. I bought a dog matte remover which worked well, but again, not to the cat's delight! The constant matte removal eventually reached a point where the cat would depart if he saw the matte cutter coming in his general direction, and at times we were forced to use electric hair clippers to get rid of the worst of the mattes -no fun for man or beast! Knowing that bathing the cat would be out of the question, I eventually stumbled upon this product. Upon receiving it from Amazon, we went right at it. The pump produces a foam similar to hair mousse, which does degrade fairly quickly into liquid form. Nonetheless, I pumped the heck out of it right onto the cat's hind end and used my fingertips to gently massage the affected area. Much to my surprise, the feeling of the wet liquid did not deter the cat from staying put and neither did the (very pleasant) smell. The fur initially dries to be a bit "greasy" feeling vs. wet, but he didn't mind and sat through the entire application. I was actually shocked to find that within 2-3 days, the dandruff issue appeared to have resolved, and no more mattes were forthcoming. My first application was about 6 months ago, and while a little dandruff returned very recently, the mattes have never returned. I attribute this to the cat not being put off by the smell of his hind quarters - let's face it, we can all imagine what the undercoat of a matted cat smells like! He took to grooming himself again and I think it was the fact that this product served to get rid of the mattes (and the stink!) and made his coat smooth and supple. I swear from the get-go that he knew we were trying to help him as we applied it and I think in his little feline brain, he then went with it. During the winter here in New England, our condo is very dry with forced hot air heating, which requires a significant amount of humidification to be added to the air daily. The general dryness has added a bit of static electric crackle to his coat (at times) and I think makes his skin (like my own this time of year), feel a little dry. I do plan to re-apply the shampoo this week and hopefully that will keep him as soft and supple as he should be and I know he wants to be. The shampoo has a very pleasant smell and really astonished us in terms of matte eradication.

Effective Pet Shampoo for Cats
I recently purchased a pet shampoo (or grooming spray) for my kitten, and I’m thrilled with its performance, with only minor limitations. The product has a delightful fragrance that leaves my cat smelling fresh and clean. After each use, her fur feels incredibly silky and smooth, which is a big plus for both her comfort and appearance. The shampoo is highly effective at removing dirt, especially since my cat loves to explore outdoors and often comes back messier than a typical indoor cat. I’ve found that using it just once or twice a week is enough to keep her coat in great condition, which makes it convenient for regular grooming. I pair the shampoo with a brush that mists water, and this combination works wonderfully. My cat tolerates the process well, which is a relief since she can be finicky about grooming. The application is straightforward, making it easy to incorporate into our routine. I’ve also noticed no skin irritation on my cat, which is crucial as she has sensitive skin. This product has become my go-to solution for keeping her clean, especially since traditional baths are not an option for her. One drawback is the bottle size, which is relatively small. When I tried using it on my large dog, the entire bottle was used in just one session. This makes it less practical for multi-pet households or for owners of bigger animals. I wish the manufacturer offered a larger bottle option to make it more convenient for frequent use or for pets of varying sizes. I plan to continue purchasing this product for my cat due to its effectiveness and gentle formula. I’ll be on the lookout for a larger bottle to make it even more convenient, but for now, it’s the best option I’ve found for keeping my kitten clean and comfortable. I’d recommend it to cat owners, particularly those with outdoor cats who need regular but gentle cleaning, but I’d suggest those with larger dogs consider the bottle size before buying.

It DOES make my cat smell like grandma
So I bought this in combination with some rinse free shampoo gloves, and an undercoat brush. My poor cat, who’s never been one to clean himself, has such oily and dandruffy fur. When I pet him, my hand gets a film on it I have to wash off. I mention that because I can’t tell if this product leaves a residue, or if it’s just my cat, cuz my cat already leaves a residue. But between this and the other products I’ve bought, his coat is definitely cleaner and we’re getting it under control. The first use of the product, paired with my regular cat brush, pulled up soooo much dandruff. The foam really helped loosen it. It did make his coat look noticeably cleaner once it dried, but I had to rub him with wet paper towels to get his fur feeling cleaner (again, I suspect it’s just a build up of his own oils). It’s like his dirtiness had to get worse in order to get better. There IS a smell tho. I’ll be sitting here and suddenly smell a perfume that you’d associate with grandma, and there he is. Lol. The smell got better after wiping him with water, but I can still smell it. I’m sensitive to smells, so I don’t LIKE it, but as a sensitive person, I find it worth it considering it’s a well rated product and he SUPER needs it.

Excellent for Senior Cats
My elderly long-haired cat has severe arthritis and can't clean herself anymore. In addition to the occassional tub bath and trimming her backside, this is a staple of our routine. Her painful joints give her a hard time squatting properly so she's peed down her legs a few times. Instead of a big lengthy bath process, this waterless shampoo works to cleanse her and leave the fur soft and smelling great. It dries in a few minutes max with only a light, clean scent and no residue. I highly recommend this for cats with cleaning issues! It can't replace a full bath for very dirty cats but comes as close as I'd expect a rinseless product can.

Too perfumey; arrived leaky
As some other reviewers mentioned, the bottle arrived having leaked a fair amount. The bottle was in its own almost-sealed plastic bag so most of the spill was confined to the bag, though a little bit got on the packaging of another item in my order. I contacted Amazon and they refunded my purchase price but did not make me return the product, so after washing the bottle to remove all the product coating it I have tried it on my cat twice. The first time she was not particularly "dirty" but she has a lot of dandruff so I hoped it'd help with that. She was softer after and maybe had a little less dandruff stuck in her fur but I don't think it did much to help that problem. I did not like the perfumey scent it left behind on her fur, which lasted for days. A week later I had to take her in the car and she peed in the carrier so her fur smelled of urine after. I used the shampoo again and it did a good job removing the smell of urine. Again, not a fan of the perfumey scent it leaves but it certainly beats cat urine! Bottom line: I'll use it again in a circumstance where her fur actually smells bad or is dirty, but otherwise I'll skip this. Unlike some other reviewers' pets, my cat definitely did not enjoy this product. She's pretty docile so she wasn't fighting me but she was definitely unhappy about being wet down (while this is waterless it's a wet foam so your cat ends up pretty wet) and trying to hide behind the toilet as I applied it in the bathroom with the door closed. After two baths the bottle feels empty, so I'm not sure if I could get a third full-body bath out of it.

Works really well!
We bought this product for several reasons: a. it was cheap b. it contained natural products c. it got good reviews on amazon It lived up to all our expectations and I would recommend this product. Now for the back story of why we had to purchase it. We have a cat who hates to travel. We have tried every kind of medication from our vet and none of them work for him. Each time we have to travel with him he gets very sick. Usually he poos first, followed by puking and eventually pees. While this is all contained in his cage and we stop to clean it as soon as we can. We made our annual trek to our summer house this week and it was the worst it has ever been. We actually stopped and gave him a bath at a rest stop, then we stopped at my mother-in-laws and gave him another bath followed by another one as soon as we arrived home. He still smelled so awful. Desperate I started looking online for a solution because I didn't want to force him to be relegated to our basement for the summer. I researched many waterless shampoos and decided to purchase this one. Obviously it worked really well! Our big guy is much happier as are we that he is free to roam the house once more. I read the reviews cautioning about neem oil and decided it was best if my DH applied this since I am still nursing our little one and plan to get pregnant again. He said it was easy to apply if didn't mind getting a lot of cat hair on his hands. He said what he did was applied the foam directly to the cat and massaged it in like you would with shampoo. For more sensitive areas around his head and eyes my DH applied the foam to his hands and then gently massaged those areas. He said our cat actually liked all the attention especially the brushing after. The shampoo does not come off the brush nor do you have to rinse it. There has been no after smell on our cat. He has not cleaned himself any more than usual. He is not itchy nor did it dry out his skin. Perhaps if you wore some gloves to apply this product it might help you. Again, a highly recommended product.

Works better than I expected
My cat is 16 years old, with short black fur, and he doesn't keep it as clean as he used to, though he appears to be quite healthy. He has been smelling like cat litter basically, which is gross. I have never given him a bath, mainly because he is not de-clawed, and I value my eyes too much to risk having them scratched out. I read from some reviewers how their cats reacted better to this shampoo than they expected. My cat has always been very moody, so I thought he would be an exception. I assumed I'd come out of the experience with battle scars. I sprayed the foam directly on his fur. The foam is watery, but it's fine. It does have an odd smell to it, a bit strong, but not offensive to me. I can see how it can be "calming". I rubbed the foam throughout his fur, pushing his fur in the opposite direction and back again, basically "fluffing him up", so that he was fully coated in the shampoo. I wouldn't say he liked it, but he didn't mind after a moment or so. He actually seemed to like it toward the end. I thought for sure he'd end up turning on me at any second, but he didn't. I could tell right off that he looked cleaner, though his fur was wet. I let it dry for an hour or so, then I combed his fur. Wow, I don't think his coat has ever looked so shiny, and he feels so soft and fluffy. His fur has always looked dull, yet oily at the same time. Now his coat looks healthy and fluffy, like it was when he was a kitten. And he smells so good! I love this stuff. I've never used any other cat shampoo, and I don't intend to. Very happy with the results after just one use.

love this stuff
I love this waterless cat bath and so does my cat. It makes grooming him and getting the loose dander off him so much easier and although there is a little light odor it is not strong or offensive by any means and only really noticeable if you are holding your cat close to your face and the little lingering smell dissipates completely after a few days. I suffer from severe migraines and I am very sensitive to smells and this cat bath does not bother me at all, I actually find the hard to describe odor (closest I can come up with is a bit flora) but it is light and very pleasant. Some times after I comb him I find he is still shedding some guard hairs but the comb/brush will not pick it up, but a little of this waterless cat bath rubbed on his fur along his back and flanks and a quick combing and the problem is solved. Sometimes I massage the cat bath into his fur and brush him before he is completely dry as I found this helped to keep loose fur from flying all over the place when I am combing him especially in heavy shedding season. I particularly like that it is in the bottle that dispenses it as a foam as it is easier to put on him and better tolerated than a spray mist. The odd time that my cat's anal glands drain a bit ... and if it has ever happened to you, you know how stinky that stuff is and hard to get off fur .... the cat bath helps get the drainage off his fur better than just plain water and it leaves a much nicer odor behind. I am so happy that Amazon.ca carries this as my local pet store stopped carrying it.

Not as advertised
If you're looking for paraben-free waterless shampoo, this is NOT the one. The bottle I received is white and the ingredients are different (contains a lot of parabens - I will not be trying that on my kitten). Also, the shampoo leaked from the bottle during shipment, I have no idea how much got lost.
