Can be used on both right handed and left handed handles. Spring dimensions are shown in the additional photograph. The thickness of 2.0mm is the height of the spring if it were laid flat. Springs are usually retained with a circlip, which can be removed and replaced using external circlip pliers. External circlip pliers are available quite cheaply elsewhere on . We also offer a 2-turn 1.8mm thick spring. The 1.8mm thick spring has slightly more than 2 turns and the 2.0mm thick spring has very slightly less than 2 turns. When choosing between these springs we suggest choosing on the basis of the number of turns rather than on the basis of thickness as the 0.2mm difference is not that significant. Pay attention to the handle orientation and fitment of the cam. Greasing the spring either side a little quietens the mechanism.I used the amtech W6050 to remove the circlip and now replaced both broken springs on a door.Be sure to check the thickness and number of turns and I'd recommend removing the cam first the be sure you've the correct replacement springs.Recommended and have a few spares in case other handles need attention. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Effective if not the best fit. *by G***S on 28 May 2014* I bought these to replace a broken spring but I found that the actual dimensions were just slightly different from the original meaning that the door handle would not rotate far enough with the new spring installed. Some slight bending of the outer curled end with a pair of pliers was needed to enable the handle to work correctly.
