Works great with Cantilever umbrella
I used this with a Purple Leaf cantilever umbrella 9x9. This base is extremely solid. I like that it has elongated holes for wide compatibility so that I didn’t have to worry about my bolt measurements being off. I have very thick, hard clay soil but I managed to dig a 16” round x 20” deep hole. I flared the hole out at the bottom for hopefully some extra strength from winds. Lined the bottom with an inch of gravel then filled with cement. It took about 350lbs worth. Rammed this base through the center without too much . I also kept the cement moist for a week before installing my umbrella. Very happy so far!

Main support
Tough to get into the ground and keep level. I could see it working on soft ground but I had roots and rocks causing issues with installation. Product was returned.

Solid quality, worth getting over Purple one.
I used these for my Purple Umbrella. The bolt holes line up without needing to modify. For a little extra piece of mind I hammered in a 4 ft piece of rebar into the bottom of the hole in the ground so it stuck up into the inside about a foot. Then used one 60 lb bag of cement and it’s been very solid. Much easier and cheaper to install than the Purple one.

Super Easy Umbrella Base
I have a large umbrella that came with my outdoor set that I haven't been able to use because I didn't have a way to bolt the given base into concrete. My patio is stone paving with rock in-between the pavers, so when I found this, I knew it was the solution. I dug out 4 pavers and lifted them up, then I dug a hole in the corner where they would sit. I measured and got this base to sit underneath where the pavers would go when they're replaced, then set and leveled this base. Afterward I poured a bag of concrete mix around the base, packed it down, replaced the pavers and rock around it. I didn't touch it for a week - and let the ground moisture seep into the concrete mix. Of course it rained one day, so I knew that would be the end of it. After a few days, I stuck the umbrella in the stand, and it holds perfectly, solid as a rock. Easy stuff.

Solid as a rock! Re-tasked after purchase.
This in-ground base is a well constructed, solid, and seeming easy to install, once you dig the hole. I can see this working perfectly with out offset umbrella, which I just found out my wife does not want to use as it is not color coordinated with our backyard setting. So, I cannot use it for it's intended purpose, and I truly think it would work perfectly in its environment. As I cannot use it in the way intended, we have a storm door that opens to the backyard, but behind the door is mounted a sconce. Since there is a 4" ledge, we cannot find a door stop to reach the ground, and a wall mounted stop would have to be at least 5" in length. To protect the sconce from a door that could be forcefully blown open, I have an inflatable travel pillow with a hole in the center. The cleaning people constantly move the pillow when cleaning, so I always have to go back out and re-place it correctly. Then there is the wind, which also causes it to move. I put this heavy base on the ground, and threaded it through the hole in the center of the pillow and made a much more stable base. We just went through a tropical storm and this did not move an inch. Great product only limited by the imagination of the user. If I did not get this through the Vine program, I would have returned it (it is NOT a cheap item) because my wife doesn't want the umbrella, but since I did, I think this is by far the best use I can make of it and I'm delighted with the results.
