Nah — this stuff smells clean and chill, like a morning surf sesh with a hint of “hey, I washed,” not “dude, did someone drop SPF bombs in my face?” A little goes a long way. I used maybe half a pea-sized glob of the face wash, rinsed, then slathered on the lotion. My skin felt like it just got a high-five. No greasy mess, just smooth vibes. Skin feels alive. Before this kit I was rocking “desert-dust meets skatepark” skin — dry, scratchy, maybe a crusty nose from too many drive-bys in the sun. After a few days with this kit: hydrated, chill, and ready to go. Bottom line: If you’re a scruffy-haired couch-crew kinda guy like me — who wants to smell decent, skip the fancy cologne, and maybe have skin that doesn’t scream “I sleep under my skateboard” — this kit nails it. It’s easy, smells good-ish, and doesn’t break the bank (literally or wallet-wise). Would I buy it again? For sure. I've tried many products for oily skin, but I always end up with breakouts, and some of the other products are too expensive. One day, I went to my local Target and found the Hawthorne Deep Exfoliating Facial Cleanser for oily skin. Ever since then, I’ve been using it for years. It’s affordable, and what’s more important to me is that it left my face dry and clean, and my face did not break out because it uses simple ingredients. I hope this product continues to exist because there’s no other product that cleans my face better.

Been using the Hawthorne "Men's" Deep Exfoliating Skincare Set for a bit now and truly love it! It's not just a kit for men, it works for everyone! Or maybe my skin is just tougher and can handle it? The exfoliator cleanser isn't overly exfoliating, it doesn't feel like it's ripping my skin up or anything. It has a bit of a minty smell, but it's not overpowering. As soon as it was washed off my skin, the scent went away. The cleanser didn't have a charcoal smell/look to it, which I was shocked about. The face lotion worked great, too. It was lightweight, didn't cause any issues with my skin, wasn't greasy. It soaked into my skin and left it moisturized. Not sure what geranium leaf is supposed to smell like, but it didn't have a heavy scent at all. Very impressed with the Hawthorne Deep Exfoliating Skincare Set and would definitely recommend.
