Perfect for me
I had my old timer for 5 years, the kind you set for how many minutes or hours between pill times. It finally fell apart, but I kept using it until I accidentally glued the stop button down. It did service me well, but one thing I didn't like was it beeped at 10 minutes before time, then again at 5 minutes before time. I found this extremely annoying. So I'm glad the thing is gone.I love this pill box for many different reasons. I set the clock on 24 hr (military time) so I can set my pill times at 10:30, 1300, 1530, and 1800. Then that's done and it repeats the next day. The beeper is loud enough for me and goes off at the set time - once. No more pre-warnings. I don't use the vibration, as I usually jump out of my skin when something vibrates in my pocket, including my phone. I also like the separate pill compartments, but I took paint and marked over the numbers to make them easier to see.I can see where this box wouldn't work for somebody needing to take a lot, or extra large pills because the compartments are small. But I imagine in most cases the compartments are a good size. For me, with a five times a day pain pill, it works perfectly. I have no complaints and will definitely buy another one when this one wears out.

Untrustworthy
First pill box came and did not work, at all. Couldn't even set the time. Returned it and got another. This one works intermittently. Will alarm appropriately for few days, then all of the numbers disappear and the time of day has to be reset as well as the pill alarm time. Again, will work for a time or two and then things go dark again. All this while the box is just siting on table, not being jostled in a pocket or purse. I guess I will continue the search.

Good For Seniors!
I'm an old 83 year old geezer with CRS. I would sometimes forget to take my meds. My times to take them were 1st thing in the A.M. and last thing at night. Even with that simple schedule, I would sometimes forget. As my health declined, I was adding more meds and supplements. I decided to divide the times to 4 times a day. This made remembering even more difficult. I then tried a phone app. Well, if I forgot my phone at home, I had no reminders. I considered an alarm watch, but my experience with those types of watches was getting them set up right was failure. I use a simple Timex analog watch with no alarms.I discovered this simple alarm device with 4 pill compartments on the back. Wow, something very easy (WATCH THE VIDEO) to setup and use. The controls are separate buttons and sliders rather than digital. Can a person with Alzheimers or severe dementia use this? I would say no, but it might be helpful to the person who is caring for them. This device is small enough to carry in a pocket or purse. I have 4 separate 7 day pill boxes--1 for each of the 4 alarm times. I fill the weekly pill boxes each week and the 4 device compartments each morning. The whole process is very simple. The alarm is not very loud so keep it close by so you can hear it. You may not hear it if it's buried in a purse though. Some say this item is pricey, but it's invaluable to me. Now, I no longer have to worry about when to take my pills--as long as I remember to take the device along or keep it close by. :)Update: I've discovered that when you tap the middle button when the alarm is not sounding, it resets everything. This is annoying to have to reset everything including the time. Also, the device sometimes resets itself. Then, you have to do a manual setup again. I'm not sure why this happens. Take 1 star off because of this reset.

Ideal for travel in pocket or purse, or anywhere at home
The batteries that came with this pill box were dead, so bought a new AAA battery (used for the alarm) and three button cell batteries (used for the clock). Everything worked fine until I decided to pour a tiny bit of water into each pill compartment and some trickled down the side and got inside the box. It went dead after that, so I removed all batteries and let it air dry for a couple of hours (after I waved it in the air to shake out any excess water that would let go). I reinserted all the batteries and on the first try, I saw a split-second flash of light. I removed the batteries, reinserted them, and this time, it came on, but no alarm or vibration. So again, I removed the batteries, reinserted and it came on. The first two alarms would work, but not #'s 3 & 4. I gave it more time to dry out (or wake up) and by bedtime, it was working perfectly. I'm on the second day of use and so far, so good. Clock works and keeps good time, and alarms have sounded at the times I set. My advice is not to wash the compartments without taking the pack apart, but snap it off at the indicated area and wash it under running water. If you have a pet in the house or someone unsuspecting, it would be good to place this item on something soft to absorb sound. I had mine on my kitchen counter and when the vibration came on, I had no idea what was happening in the kitchen, and my dog almost had a heart attack. The alarm is rather loud, and the vibration is strong. The way I see it, if the item doesn't last more than two or three months, I got my money's worth at the current price and I will just buy another one. Depending on the kind of batteries you buy, it should last at least a year if they are of good quality. It should work great for when I'm focused on paperwork and etc., and also on flights or any other method of travel. Taking my medicines on time is a high priority, and I do not need the side effects I get when I miss a dose. This e-pill dispenser should be ideal in helping me keep things on schedule so my days and nights will go well. I'm ordering another one for a spare.Update: I've had this e-pill alarm for over a month now and it still works great. The water that got inside didn't seem to hurt it any at all. Glad I made the purchase!
