One of the best rice varieties for Uzbek plov.

I used my simple rice cooker to cook up this rice and while the taste was very good, i found it to be a little more on the chewy side. Using a little more water solved that problem giving the rice a more fluffy texture. This rice is a little different from the short grain rice that I usually cook as it is not sticky and each grain of rice stays quite loose.

My children are accustomed to Thai jasmine rice and have turned up their noses at many different rices that I have reviewed through Vine because they didn't like the texture or flavor. This rice was a hit with them! This bag of rice arrived well sealed. Rinsing, I could tell this is a very starchy rice, it turned the water white and required a fair amount of rinsing. I made the rice in my rice maker and the finished product had a soft fluffy texture. The flavor was very good and the rice was filling. This rice may shine most in Central Asian dishes, but it is versatile enough to work in any dishes that call for white rice.
