Chucking out the Lux.
When one of the four halogen bulbs on our kitchen lights (on a central lighting track) failed, we thought we'd take the opportunity to replace it and the other three halogen Gu10s with these LED versions. The colour temperature is 3000k (kelvin) which makes them the same as the halogen bulbs they were replacing (so you don't get a warmer or colder shade of "white"), but the array of LED emitters seem to push out a great deal more light. Since these are not dimmable, you have to be okay with that. We don't see the point in "mood lighting" in a kitchen, but some people might; of course these can go in any other room that has a Gu10 light there, such as a reading lamp. The other upside of LED is of course the typically low power consumption. We're now running these four lights at about half the cost of running just one of the original halogen bulbs, which has to be a good thing. The one caveat I have is that these bulbs are very slightly deeper (about 2cm, maybe a little less) front-to-back than the halogen ones they replaced. This means that although they fit diameter-wise into the original fittings just fine, they protrude slightly beyond the opening for the light whereas the halogen ones were flush fitting. This isn't a nightmare to look at, just something to keep in mind. The good thing is that the bulbs will be a lot easier to remove if necessary since they can be grasped more easily by the edges. I noticed also that the packaging doesn't warn us about the possibility of contamination on the glass causing the light to shatter, which we got with the hot-burning halogen ones that we replaced (for which we needed to use a small rubber cup to install, to avoid grease from fingers). I'm hoping that means that these are more robust and not need meticulous cleaning to avoid localised hotspots causing the glass to break (then again, the front lens on these is plastic, which probably has a lot to do with it). With the exception of the depth problem, these are wonderful for places that need very bright light at quite a friendly temperature. In a workplace they will be great, but for ambience you may want to go dimmable, or be very careful about where you're lighting, because these really chuck out the Lux. If you're choosing a replacement, don't just think GU10 and hit "buy" - look at the dimensions first, and compare them to a bulb you intend to replace and you'll be fine.

Super. And bright.
These are the same as LEDHut's range before they went all plastic fantastic and narrow beam angles. As such, they are nice and reliable, not a single chip has failed yet in over 3 months. Slightly longer than a standard halogen GU10 so that's a star off. Why can't they seem to get these to be 50mm long?

20 out of 20 bulbs working perfectly!!
Bought 10 non-dimmable cool white bulbs this week to replace warm white 50w halogens in kitchen, also 10 non-dimmable natural white bulbs for other areas. Great improvement, very bright 'cool' lighting in the kitchen. Tried them in a bedroom, but a touch too bright, so opted for natural white there. Still bright, but not so dazzling. Should be a good investment, as our boys tend to leave all lights on where ever they have been in the house, a common problem for most parents I am certain. Electricity usage for lighting should plummet. I will feel more comfortable with every light in the house being on, as most are now only 5w bulbs!! Delighted with purchase so far, but durability is still to be proven. Fingers crossed on that one. Now planning to buy dimmable natural white bulbs for last halogen illuminated area. So for now, purely on initial product performance, price and looks, I would highly recommend these bulbs.

They emit enough light
These are really good. I am not sure how long they will last but the light they emit is wonderful. I have added some photos to show u this.

So far so good…
Bought warm white (3000k) but the light tint is actually closer to 4000k so may be too cold if you want this fuzzy yellowish warm colour. Getting hot fairly quick, but no issues so far. Dimming is fine, didn’t see them flicker.

A good replacement for the old halogen GU10s
These seem to be a good typical LED GU10. They are the reflector type which I like and the focused beam, warm white type are the ones to go for if you want an exact replacement for the older halogen type. (Not so easy to find info on that but trust me they are.) However, as a general comment on all LED GU10s, I find they do last longer than the old halogens but no where near as long as claimed plus, what is never mentioned, they get noticeably dimmer over time. However, they are much cheaper to run.

Don’t last
The ice white lights are the perfect colour for me but the issue is they only last a few months. The idea of switching to led was to save money but the bulbs don’t last. They either dim, flash so bad you can’t have them on without risk of epilepsy or they don’t come on at all after an only a few months. I thought it was a faulty batch the first time so bought the same bulbs with different power rating with the same results. These were purchased in July 2024 and I have replaced half again by September 2024. Apparently they have a year warranty but are you really going to save them and send them all back? It’s beyond the Amazon return time window. I spent nearly 40 quid on bulbs and only need 9. My recommendation is Just don’t buy them. The seller is good, Delivery and packaging etc was all good it’s just the product is poor. Lighting was fitted by electrician with re-wire, new consumer unit etc a few years ago.
