RF28-70mm F2.8 is STM Macro Lens, Black

Great lens at a great price point. The only minor quibble I have, which I knew before I bought it, is that you must extend it to start taking pictures. It’s minor, and you get used to it. It’s light and handy and a sharp piece of kit.

Fantastic lens! I’ve only shot with “L” glass with the exception of a very sharp Tamron 24-70 that this is replacing (sent it to my sister). The focus is fast without any hunting, the image is sharp and the bokeh is beautiful. I’m really pleased with this lens and it’s so light!

This lens is the way to go!! Quality! Quality! It’s expensive but so worth it !

Unless you are a professional or accomplished amateur taking photos during all sorts of weather related events, THIS is the lens you need. This lens takes fantastic photos, is very solidly built and feels great to use. The lens is weather sealed- not to the extent that the L-Series is, but in light weather related events like soft rain and drizzle the 28-70mm lens perfectly fine. The aperture is 2.8 throughout the zoom range and does very well in low light. You are getting 90% of what you get with the L-Series for about $1300 LESS off the L Series price. Terrific buy!!! Terrific lens.

Fantastic lens. Focuses fast, very sharp throughout the zoom, and feels very solid on my R8. If you want a professional quality lens for a lower price, this is the perfect lens for you. It is perfect for videos and photos, and does not come off my camera.

A versatile lens with great color quality that I use just about everywhere. Being STM and not USM, the autofocus is sometimes just a tad slow for those fast-moving subjects. But, if you're quick with your focus points and have your settings adjusted accordingly, it usually performs very well. Note that you will get slight vignetting and distortion when you shoot at the widest possible angle, so I recommend zooming in past 28mm whenever possible. Of course, editing tools work wonders in correcting these idiosyncrasies.

A simple can not go wrong lens. Autofocus is still very fast and precise. Don't often need something "faster" than F2.8. great first zoom lens for my R8

Smaller and lighter than the 24-70mm L version. It’s worth the money in every way. I actually sold my L lens due to the extra weight. In my opinion, It’s just as sharp, stabilized well, and performs perfectly. Yes, we lose 4mm of width, but in the scheme of things, it doesn’t effect the use too much. In my case I also own a 14-35mm lens for super wide images. If I have one fault with it, it’s the expanding the lens to 28mm notch prior to being able to use the lens. I realize however that this design is why the lens can remain so compact in a backpack. It’s a very minor issue.

I rarely review for product in amazon but this lens takes me some times to write some text. The built quality is excellent with weather resistant, same as L lens. The images and footages completely outstanding same as my current lens prime like 35mm or 50mm f1.8. I rated 9/10 for such lens. Just -1 because of the missing red ring.
