Makes silk laundering a breeze
Love this product for wool, silk, and synthetic delicates. The detergent smells fresh, it cleans thoroughly but gently, and it leaves silk with a gorgeous luster. I machine wash all my silk and synthetic delicates, using about a capโs worth for a small load in a front loader. Since rinsing is optional, Iโm not too worried about measuring precisely. The rinse cycle takes care of most/all of it. Iโve had no skin irritation from any of my clothes after washing in this. The bottle is huge, considering how much I use per load. I typically run 2-3 delicate loads per month, so Iโm set for โฆ a long time.

This stuff works
Used this wash to rehab a stunning vintage woolrich sweater. So impressed, softened the sweater immensely and helped me stretch it out to its rightful size with blocking after years of shrinkage. Got a bunch of dust and dirt out of the sweater I didnโt even realize was hiding in there. Smells great, Iโm very sensitive with strong fake smells and while the scent is definitely strong itโs a natural scent thatโs pleasant on the nose.

Cleans really well, does smell strong though
***UPDATE OCT. 2023*** Still using, and loving this woolwash. We got a new washing machine and it has a very safe delicates cycle so I can wash certain sweaters and other wool/silk items in it without shrinkage. Outback cleans and works as well in the machine as it does for my handwashes. Still using it to handwash delicates and many wool/silk items and still love it as much as I did when I wrote my first review. **Original review** As a knitter and overall lover and avid wearer of wool, I really appreciate a good wool wash. I have used eucalan wool was for over a decade now... Until I found outback. The first time I used it I was honestly amazed by just how much cleaner my wool items were. My process is the same as when I use eucalan, tepid water, soak wool garment maybe a gentle swish or two, gently squeeze, wrap in a towel to squeeze excess water, lay flat to dry. My wool laundry consists of my husbands huge wool sweaters, my sweaters, wool leggings and base layers, children's woollies, as well as hats and mittens and scarves (we live in a super cold climate, wool is necessary). I also handwash lots of other small things; baby clothes, delicates, silk pillowcases, silk scarves etc Outback gets everything significantly cleaner then eucalan ever did. It leaves our clothes soft and stain free, wool and everything else. The one downside is the scent. I really wish the company offered an unscented version. Or even just a different one. I don't much like the smell of this on freshly washed clothes. That said, the scent does fade after a day or two and is actually pleasant once it's faded. I use unscented laundry products (bar this, obvs) and we're a natural products and low scent household, so anything with a strong smell is pretty noticeable. Also, if used following instructions on the bottle for amounts per wash, it lasts a very long time. Overall very pleased to have found this. And won't be going back to eucalan as this just cleans better.

Gold standard of wool washing!
Quality concentrated washing detergent. I use one cap full to clean small washing machine load (equivalent of two small sheep skins) & the wool always comes out fresh and bouncy. Highly recommend this product to anyone looking to keep your wool fresh or sheep skins intact and free of drying out. Bottle fits nicely in tight laundry space. Dog skin friendly too!

I like it, but I'm not sure why.
This is a tough one because I follow the instructions for the amount per load, which is 1.5-2 cap fulls for HE laundry machines. I see no suds. That makes me concerned. I'm used to suds, even minimally. My delicates loads are not very large, but rather small. Maybe 8-10 small items (boxer-briefs, socks, lightweight base layers). All my wool clothes are dark. So stains aren't really visible. So I can't tell if stains are removed. Merino wool and alpaca wool are known to not hold odors. After cleaning and drying, I can confirm they don't smell bad. They don't smell good. They just don't smell like anything, which is not bad, so I guess that's good. So not seeing suds worries me, and not being able to see stains before or after washing is not reassuring. But the fact that they don't smell bad, I guess means I like the product. The price was not too bad as long as my 2 cap fulls per load is actually cleaning my delicates. Speaking of cap fulls, obviously, not all the detergent gets poured into the machine. The residual liquid has leaked down the top of the bottle and leaves a residue. I have learned to take a sock or something in the load and wipe out the cap so the residual liquid actually makes it into the washer. The bottle is plastic, so it does make me wonder if microplastics are leaching into the liquid and hence, into my clothes, but I don't find better options. I hope that helps. UPDATE: I just reordered because my bottle is getting low on the cleanser. The bottle lasted a full 5 months doing one delicate load, once a week, using 2 cap fulls per load. I realized that my cleaned laundry didn't have a smell because I ordered the fragrance free product. After using it for 5 months, I decided I like the product. This time I ordered the original scent. I'll update after using it a few times to review the fragrance.

Best for cleaning my alpaca socks!!!
Love this for my alpaca socks which I just started wearing. Afraid to wash them since they are wool. Well I read all the wonderful reviews and decided to try it. Im in love with this liquid wash. I got a plastic container and filled it with lukewarm water. Put 1/4 cap of cleanser in the water ( I figured maybe 1/2 gal water). Swished the water with my hand to mix. Let me alpaca socks soak for about 10 minutes while I took my shower. Then squeezed my socks out and hung them up to dry. My socks looked nice and clean. A very slight nice clean smell. I did not have to rinse them. I am so happy I have a safe cleaner for my alpaca socks. Highly recommend this. Well packaged and came on time. I will use this forever. Hope my review helps you. Thanks very much to this company.
