Ortho BugClear Insect Killer For Lawns & Landscapes Ready-to-Spray

My yard was overrun with mosquitos so in a panic I went though the reviews and decided on this product to hopefully save me. It hooked onto my regular hose quite easily and I sprayed 2 full containers all over my back yard grass and bushes. Very easy, no issues. Instantly I was no longer being attacked by the mosquitos. It has only been about a week but it’s still working thankfully. I’ll update when I notice them coming back to see how long it worked. For now I couldn’t be happier. A bonus- it says it works well to get rid of so many other bugs and such. Awesome! I can finally use my back yard without preparing for battle first. Yay!

I mainly bought this to help with mosquitoes, and it definitely made a difference. Within a couple of days, we noticed far fewer mosquitoes around the yard, making it much more enjoyable to sit outside in the evenings. The application was easy, and it covered my lawn well. I’ll definitely be keeping this on hand during mosquito season.

I've tried all sorts of hose sprayers for anything from crickets in the bushes under the window to mosquitos in the perimeter area. Recently moved to a humid environment where mosquitos are a serious burden for half the year. Can end up with 1-5 bites in a matter of minutes some days. So I spray down the stairway outside my door, walkway and yard edge where the pesky bugs like to hang out the most. This Ortho spray doesn't smell as strong as other brands, but it does appear to work with far less mosquitos buzzing around as I saturated the zone pretty well - front sidewalk, outside stairs, upper deck and lawn edge. The sprayer bottle output is awful !! Mine didn't leak but it only sprayed about 10 feet out and 5 feet wide with zero option to adjust. I have a wood outdoor stairway that needs spraying and the Ortho bottle wouldn't even make it up halfway up the the height from the ground. Unlike other sprays, the Ortho does not leave a noticeable toxic sheen behind, which can sometimes be irritating to the skin if touched weeks later ... Does that mean it won't last as long or isn't doing its job? Guess we'll see. All in all it seems like a decent mosquito bug repellent, but the disposable bottle sprayer mechanism needs a huge upgrade.

Not sure how effective this is, still running into bug problems around the property. There might be slightly less? Bad year for them. Might consider other options

I had them itty-bitty ants all over my house one here one there not enough to put that Tara stuff around the house this I spread the yard once haven’t seen one Ant since. Highly recommend this product.

I sprayed my yard and garage 2 weeks ago and within a few days the mosquitoes had disappeared and my outdoor cats don't seem to be scratching at fleas. Quite as much. Will definitely use this again UPDATE 08.07 still not having problems with mosquitoes. Fleas flies bugs of all sorts. This is definitely something I will continue to use.

We used this on our lawn to try and prevent fire ants that typically come from our neighbors yard into our yard. We sprayed it over the entire yard actually going over it twice to hopefully ensure the bugs got drenched enough. Over the next few days to a week we saw fire ant mounds ALL over the lawn 😳 WHY? I thought this stuff was supposed to kill bugs not bring them up to the surface like crazy. Has anyone else experienced this? Next we’re going to try the granules from spectracide then water that in right after the granules get put down and pray it works. Yes we do have the ortho orthene fire ant mound powder (that smells like death) that does kill the mounds but there were SO many mounds we would have needed to sprinkle it over our entire lawn making it look like it had just snowed (ugg). We’re just curious has anyone else experienced this where it seems to have brought the bugs up from under the lawn when it was supposed to kill them? Based on this experience I would not recommend this for killing bugs in the lawn and we will definitely not be buying this one again. Very frustrated.
