USAutomatic Sentry 300D Commercial Grade Automatic Gate Opener for Dual Solar Swing Gates

The instructions are clear and I'm a handy person but I decided to have these item (along with solar and a second set) professionally installed because it required a wire going across due to double gates and I wanted it done clean. It took them the whole day to put it up because they were not familiar with the product. But so far it has been a god send from getting in and out of the car to open the gate. No adjustment needed so far and is working flawlessly.

Gate bracket broke within 30 days after installing. Simple installation but you are unable to expand to wired keypad or other accessories. High cost compared to Mighty Mule etc and not much better. The extra expense is not worth it.

I worked 10yr as a garage door installer. Installing door and gate openers frequently. I have installed 4 of the imported gate opener systems for friends etc. This was the second install of this brand. This time for a dual gate system and by my recommendation. This brand is nearly double the cost of the imports. It's worth 4x literally. The housings are sealed, all metal, pre-wired. The control box is simple to adjust and understand, gate limits are adjusted inside the control box. This is important because the magnetic limits on the others can fool the opener into running the wrong direction. If a gust hits the gate while the motor is running assisting it. It can run a bit too far. If it goes just far enough that the limit reopens when you actuate the gate again it try's to keep running the same direction jamming the motor. A condition not easily diagnosed by a homeowner. Rain seaps into them. These US made openers are strong, leak free (so far). With the limits adjust by pots inside the control box they run the proper direction every time. The entire install is cleaner and easier. They are much more dependable. They have a 10yr warrenty. I told my friend I would not help him if he didn't spend the extra money for this system. He finally agreed. I knew how mad he would be if it was not trouble free. You put in a gate opener for convience. If you haved to fool with them to keep them working it's kinda self defeating. I haven't use te solar option yet but since these run on 12v not 24v I'm sure it would work. I did have to wire the cord to the far gate leaf. I soldered and heat shrink wraped the connections. I cut the wire from the motor at about 8" so the soldered connection would never hit the ground. Even though it was well sealed. The control box end I cut the wires at 6" from the plug then used single closed end crimps the make the connections. This kept the joints inside the control box. I also used some rtv sealant on the control box mounts. Most of the problems I fixed over 10yrs from all brands were all moisture related. All the plugs were treated with silicone grease to stop any corrosion. Do a little extra on the install and you won't have to do it twice.

I have had this product 4 years, on my 5th. I have replaced a gate actuator every year, 4 times now. They were all covered under the company warranty. Now another actuator (gate motor) has gone bad and this time it will be out of my pocket. Product seems very well made (in USA too) but never again will I spend this much money when other similar products are much less and hopefully don't need to be replaced year after year.

We put this together ourselves four months ago and could not be more pleased. It took both my husband and I working twelve hours straight to put up the main and dual gate (we have two leafs) that swing open away from the house (push mode). Our gate is 18' long, and crests at 54" in the center. We got the solar panel with it, and it moves this gate effortlessly. We have not had any issues with the gate opening/closing. It has been reliable and consistent in performance, exceeding all our expectations. I highly recommend this gate over any competitors. It is worth every penny.

USAutomatic Sentry 300D Gate opener is horrible! It has never worked right even with professional installation. I returned many openers. US Automatic Opener even acknowledged that they had a know problem. SO far I have over $1500 into opening two light gates and they still don't work right!!!!! Horrible product!

We have had the dual gate opener installed now for over 18 months. (This is the second winter using the system) The gate opener works great. It is solar powered and living in eastern Ohio, 1 panel would not sufficiently charge the battery to open several times a day. I installed a second 5 watt panel (using 2 panels) and it hasn't failed to work even when we don't have sun for several days. No problems through the cold winter with snow on the ground. It takes 16 seconds to cycle from closed to open. Great product. I would certainly buy again

It is well made and easy to install. There are plenty of options in the use of this gate opener. The quality in material and design is outstanding. The only part I would change is where the actuator attaches to the gate post, I would use a pin like the one used on the gate attachment point. I did not like the bolt and nut method in that I had to use Lock Tight to make sure the nut would not back off.
