I didn't think it would be possible to mount a gate at my basement steps without damaging the banister but my kid being a menace forced me to really try to find a solution. I was just going to drill into it when I found this and it's a brilliant solution. This combined with a baby gate with sliding cat door are a total game changer and I finally feel safe with my kid nearby and we can take it out with no damage. Works perfectly, cheap and simple to use. Great idea.

Great idea for using a gate on stairs. Fit my railing well and was easy to install.

Easy to mount to banister post so I could mount a gate on stairs. Saving me from drilling mounting holes for the gate. I can move it if need be.

The ratchet straps are too long, it won't tighten enough to be secure. Good idea, but bad design

It works perfectly. It is nice how it swings both ways. I think it is well worth its value but it takes some time to install it. You have to know a little bit about installing the right kind of anchor in you wall.
