RWBY: VOLUME 5 BLU-RAY

I'm not impressed by this bluray like I have with the previous 4, I am a huge RWBY fan but just to state that this isn't the normal combo pack ,there are 2 bluray discs instead of 1 bluray and 1 dvd. 1 bluray is for the episodes and the other bluray is for special commentary/trailers/promos. The animation is slightly smoother than what is on the roosterteeth website @1080p, but other than that the only notable change is the intro songs (the triumph) audio is in surround sound instead of stereo and it sounds like it lacks bass or is tinny, very off putting. The episodes themselves have little improvement as only certain scenes/episodes would have noticeably increased detail or in action sequences would be in surround sound, As others have stated there is no movie mode The title screen is a static image with no music, it really feels not well done compared to the other blurays.

two starts for:1) worst volume, it's hard to defend this volume (as a whole) after listening to the director's commentary.2) no movie mode like others have said, HUGE disappointment-- doesn't even auto play next episode, just goes back to the menu. Miles and Kerry decided to leave the openings and endings in to give them more time to commentate but they complained during the commentary that they didn't know what to say. This just makes watching vol 5 more excruciating.3) this isn't a combo pack. the blu-ray is only blu-ray.

I absolutely love RWBY, the stars are specifically for the Item/Disc(s) in particular. Here are a few things I don't like about the Item/Disc(s):1: Amazon is listing this item as a "Combo" pack. Meaning a DVD/Blu-Ray Disc Combo. No, this IS NOT a DVD/Blu-Ray Disc Combo pack. There are 2 Discs; Disc 1 has RWBY Volume 5 on it. Disc 2 has the Special Features (5 Years Of RWBY, Character Sorts, CRWBY Series, etc).2: Something I personally don't like is the fact that they had to put the Special Features on one disc alone, instead of putting it on the same disc that has the actual Volume on it.3: Something that I -- and a lot of people don't like -- is that there IS NOT a MOVIE MODE on this Volume. Previous Volumes had 3 options: Play As Movie, Scene Selection, or Chapter Select. Play As Movie is so you can watch every episode without dealing with Chapter End Credits or having to listen to/watch the Opening Theme's over and over again (Not saying the Opening Theme's are bad, they're pretty kickass), this Volume/Blu-Ray Disc DOES NOT have that Option. Instead of playing everything like that, your option on this Volume/Blu-Ray Disc, is "Play All", it will play it like a Movie, but the Opening Theme and Chapter End Credits will play after every Chapter ends instead of just continuing to the next chapter (Like a movie would). That is a pretty big swift-kick in the ass. I don't know how anyone from Rooster Teeth didn't think of this.As for this Volume; I would give it a 4-4.5/5 stars. I liked it a lot, though some moments were just too goofy, and sometimes I feel like they overdid some of the humor in this Volume. I love when RWBY is serious and dark, but I also love the humor in it, but adding too much humor -- especially overdoing it -- kind of kills it. But I still love this Volume. My personal favorite Volumes are 3 and 4.

Love the show itself. Really disappointed in the package. Because it says COMBO, one would think that there would be one Bluray disk and one DVD. What I got was two Bluray disks. I get the combos so I can watch it on my laptop without internet.

This was an excellent season of a show that overall has been incredible.The Blu ray combo pack is very good value for the price. Very happy with this purchase.

Our hero’s have made it to haven academy and the action keeps getting better and the action sequences that other fans say is gone is alive and well in this volume!

What a fun, and relatively clean anime. While it does deal with mature situations, it is really nice to be able to watch an anime with my young teen daughters, and not have to explain any of the more interesting aspects of the Japanese culture.

Brilliant anime

First of all, this show is AMAZING and the show itself I would give a perfect review. This blurp below is not for the show but for how Volume 5 is presented in home video format.Now then, on to the review...I had this item on pre-order months before its release and at the time of ordering this was listed as a 2-disc combo pack, which in my mind is Blu-Ray and DVD as with volumes 2-4. Not so. When it arrived and I opened the packaging, there was no DVD version to be found, only 2 Blu-Ray discs (disc 1 for the main feature and disc 2 for the special features). If there was another version that had both a DVD and Blu-Ray that was a more expensive (within reason), I would have gotten that instead. And to add insult to injury, this volume of RWBY does not include a "Movie" mode as in all previous volumes so each episode is played with the opening sequence and end credits just like you'd find on YouTube or the Rooster Teeth website, which is a big disappointment as that it a primary reason for me purchasing this product. If you're not a die hard RWBY fan, save your money and just watch online.
