It's definitely fun to mix and match the different shapes into a huge variety of potential faces, but the lightweight plastic hammer that comes with the kit takes forever to pound the cutters through... tap, tap, tap, tap, tappity, tap, and tap some more. I ended up grabbing my rubber mallets from the garage to speed up the job... the downside being a couple of splits at close points between cuts.No major complaints, the cutters are made pretty well and did what they were supposed to do. One pain point was trying to get the pumpkin out of the smaller cutters after they've punched through. Safety gets compromised when you have to use a sharp object to cut the punchouts loose.

These “cookie cutters” work great for any size pumpkin. The ones pictured are quite small. Using the scraper to clean out the pumpkins, and then hammering in the cutters was a smooth and easy process. Much faster and more safe than us trying to use a knife. And the cuts are precise. Our first pumpkins together turned out nicely thanks to this kit. To clean the pieces off, we rinsed with warm water and let air dry.At first, I was concerned the cutters weren’t sharp enough to pierce through the pumpkin, but just takes the right hammer force. Once you have it down, it gets easier.

I like this set because it comes with everything you need basically. The cutters are cute and different sizes. The hammer/mallet has a challenging time getting through the pumpkins that have a thicker rind. I had to take out an actual mallet from my garage to help. I will say at least the cutters stay in their shape without bending or denting like overs that. They are fun to use to give the pumpkins a safer way to create a smile. It is functional but an adult definitely needs to help.

We're hosting a pumpkin carving party for Halloween this year. My daughter is 3 so I'm not sure if it'll be easy for her, so this looked like a great idea. I ordered the 16 piece set.For $17.99 as of this review, you get a lot. But i was disappointed that there's only 1 mouth pattern. The cutouts are sharp enough to cut into the pumpkin but not super sharp so it'll cut children's fingers. The hammer and scoop are of decent quality.What I like is you don't have to draw a pattern so it's super easy for kids. But I wish it came with more designs, especially for the mouth.

I was a bit skeptical about this kit but it works. You just gotta really use the hammer to bang the cutouts in but it makes pumpkin carving so easy! You just need to have a knife to cut out the top first. The only thing that was difficult was the pumpkin cutouts getting stuck in the molds but besides that, this was great!
