So I was a little skeptical if these carving utensils would cut, because they are safety edges and don't appear to cut skin. I ran my fingers against them and the sharp part did not cut me. The box says age 16 plus, but with supervision younger kids should be able to use them correctly without harming themselves. I tried this on a watermelon, being it's a little early for my pumpkin carving and it cuts. The carving cutting utensils and scrapper are sturdy and shaped to fit your hand and have a good grip. The scraper works great for removing seeds from cucumbers and melons too, so keep this handy in your kitchen year round. Gloves fit good and extra long cuff is on the right glove only. I like the fact that the kit has 2 sets of gloves, 2 different sizes so mom and kid or dad and kid can work together, quality of gloves are good. I like the knives set, sharp and easy to work with. Trays are fully plastic.

Bought this in advance of Halloween. The carving tools feel very sturdy, and the scrapers are a great tool to have for cleaning out the pumpkins. Gloves are nice and big, and seem fairly thick, so optimistic they will hold up. The little plates that come with it are a nice bonus, not really needed for carving, but could be used for other things during Halloween season.

This is a great pumpkin carving kit. Fun plates, good tools, adult gloves, and kid gloves. It has it all. The knives/carving tools have really nice handles on them and are comfortable and convenient to hold. The adult gloves fit me great and the Kids gloves fit my six-year-old as well.I also like the little orange scraper things for cleaning out the inside of the pumpkin. Those will be very useful!
