Worked ONCE/ Replaced
I was super hype for this item. I planned on using it to help guide me to a consistent, faster pace running. I received it 30 April. Opened it and headed out. I read the instructions and was pretty confident I could get it going. Tried to turn it on. No luck. Tried repeatedly and finally it just blinked on. Thought that was werid but hey it was working. Got the pace I wanted and was very happy. Finished the run. Turned it off and it never turned on again. Worked ONCE. I asked for a replacement and will update when it comes. Fingers crossed because when it did work it helped me alot. Reported the issue to Amazon. They had a new one out the next day...it works amazing. It helps me stay on stride. Love it.

Helpful for Swim Training
The audible tempo cues make it easier to focus on stroke rhythm during practice. It’s a useful tool for working on consistency in the pool, and I like that it’s designed to be used in the water. A nice addition to our swim gear.

Works great
Works great, easy to use, pricey but worth it if it lasts a long time (will have to see). My son enjoys using it at swim practice to time his strokes. No display complaints.

Dead battery
This item came with a dead battery. For the price I paid it should work upon arrival. Ordered new batteries and it still won’t work.

Long time user, I'm happy with it. Had a good experience with Finis' customer service too.
Mine finally semi-died after years of use. I bought mine near the end of 2017. During that first 6 months of use I was swimming 4.5 miles every single day, no joke. So when I say I have no idea how many miles I have on this thing I really mean it. I'm totally happy with the unit. I used it exclusively for "Mode 3" which is the stroke-tempo-timer thing. Mostly to challenge myself and raise the workout intensity. Never had any issues with the seal around the battery door. Never experienced any leaks, chips, cracks or anything like. It gets SUPER long battery life which is rad. I think I only changed the battery once in that 4 year period. I am very gentle with this sort of gear. when its not in use its in a thick heavy duty mesh bag that. There are micro-scratches on it from the years of use. About the same level of damage you'd see on a heavily use pair of hand paddles. I'm not sure what caused my issue exactly. My mode 3 did eventually stop working. I went to use it one day and it was just not having it. It turned on like normal, I switched the mode over to mode-3 like normal, then less than a second later it flat-lined. The way a patient does on ER tv shows.. One single non-stop beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep lol. At this point the device became unresponsive for the most part. The mode button did nothing, and the up and down buttons - - when pressed individually - - did nothing. However, I could still turn the device off by holding how the two up/down buttons together like you would normally turn it off. I turned the device back on and checked that mode-1 and mode-2 were working as designed and they were, only mode-3 has this odd issue. The unit was completely dry. No condensation or anything was visible through the body of the unit. Nothing was loose or shaking around. It's never experienced any hard shocks/drops. Never stepped on it or anything like that. I got home tried again, same result. Replaced the battery with a new one, same result. I then contacted Finis support directly through their website. That was an easy process. They got back to me early the next day - that was great. There were no language barriers. They were polite and professional. They gave me a few troubleshooting steps, all of which I had already tried. I sent them a video of the device and me cycling through its modes and describing the issue. Obviously I was WAY past my warranty period so all I was hoping for was information on maybe how to reset the device or something. They were kind enough to offer me a new unit for $25.00! I took them up on the offer and an waiting for the new unit to arrive. I'm very happy with their customer service. I'm very happy with the device itself and its use case. But... I am a cheap ass. And I am an IT guy. This is one of the simplest devices you could build. As much as I love this thing, Finis, really guys, at $50-$60 this is about 300% more than it should be. If a competitor built the mode-3 functionality by itself into a water tight device and charged $15 for it, you guys would lose the market for this entirely. Every really serious swimmer and coach I know uses these and recommends them. And everyone of them only cares about mode-3. Had Finis not offered me the $25 replacement unit - - for which I am extremely grateful - - I would have just built my own version for $15.

Best piece of swim training equipment!
It clips onto the goggle strap and generates a constant beep. The rhythm can be adjusted to be faster or slower. As an adult trying to swim laps without gasping for air at the end of a single lap, I turned to a swim coach or swim lessons to teach me what I did not learn growing up near the river! One of the biggest tweets I needed was to slow down my strokes!! I was thrilled how well the Finis Pacing device put me in slow motion and managed to improve my fatigue! Great learning device. For expert swimmers, it can be used to measurably increase their speed of stokes. Highly recommend.

Great product if used with the Tie-Down Points
I have used this for well over a year, averaging about 4 times a week in the lap pool. It took me about a year to figure out that if I lace a small tie-wrap through the tie-downs that it will not only stay in place but also be much more audible via bone-conduction. When I worn it without using the tie-downs, it would work out of position making the beeps hard or impossible to hear, and eventually tear loose from the google strap. I use a dedicated pair of googles for this product, so affixing it with a tie-wrap was not a problem. I use it for 1/2-interval timing for RPT, so I set if for ~7 seconds and it works great.

Very good swimming gear
Using it for just a week. I improved my tempo and shaved off 2 seconds of my average swimming speed (100 m free style). Excellent value for money.

Magnífico
Es perfecto para natación. Me he acostumbrado tanto a su uso tanto en piscina como en aguas abiertas que al perder por descuido en el mar el primero que adquirí me compré inmediatamente uno igual. A pesar de que no es muy barato,
