I really like it
After my old machine broke down some time ago, I'm glad to be back making cappuccinos again. The Salter machine works a treat...

Great for hot chocolate and coffee
Great coffee maker for an infrequent coffee drinker. Makes great coffee but I use it more for heating milk and frothing .My only criticism is that it’d be nice to move the wand out a bit more so it sits centrally in the provided jug

machine over heats far to quickly
I've used coffee machines for over 20 years this one is the worst I've ever brought, i always like to heat the milk up first as it takes the longest you carnt do that with this machine if you do it over heats the lights won't stop flashing witch Indicates its over heated, i carnt even send this machine back as am Disabled and House bound, nobody will collect it from my home it has to be a collection point witch i carnt get too, i carnt even phone amazon because that service is no longer available when that happened i do not know it seems its difficult to speak to anybody these days but yeah not a good coffee machine at all

A capable brewer.
We wanted a smaller machine to take away with us as my Duotemp has been a bit too big. This is half the size and was a very good price. The handle and pan are quite light and not as heavy as a pricier machine but more than capable with 4 baskets - 2 pressure and 2 open. It actually pulls a lovely shot and as it has buttons to choose the size rather than a manual dispense my wife finds it a lot easier to use. You can fit two cups easily under it and also put a cup on some scales if you want. The steamer is ok. I take the tube off and just use the wand underneath but it does do a great job either way. When I first used it I steamed the milk and the got flashing lights on the control panel so I couldn't dispense coffee. I found out that it won't when the nozzle is too hot. You can cool it down by venting steam but the best thing to do is make your coffee first and then do the milk so it's not a thing. All in all, great build quality for the price and a worthy companion on holidays. Cost me less than 10 large Costa lattes!

Makes good coffee
Easy enough to use except for one thing which for me marks it down. When you use the frother before making the coffee it doesn't easily let you dispense the coffee afterwards instead you have to open frother valve to ease pressure and wait or turn off and off at the mains, most annoying.Edit: the problem got worse and eventually packed up so I returned for a full refund.

Design flaw and flimsy
I've had this a couple of months and couldn't work out why once you make one espresso and foam the milk it just flashes and won't let you make a second coffee but after reading recent reviews I see it's design flaw, not just me.This is obviously annoying enough but today the handle broke off the coffee pan bit when I was emptying out the grinds. You might be thinking maybe this 5 foot one dame is just the hulk? I was tapping it off a plastic bio bin and it wasn't like I was hopped up on coffee. I'd already made one for my husband and therefore would need to wait another 3 and a a half hours before it'd be ready to make mine.Unless you only want to make one coffee one at a time and don't mind a really flimsy portafilter thing I wouldn't recommend.

Makes good coffee
Our 5 year old DeLonghi espresso machine recently started misbehaving and we decided to replace it. This machine is half the price of the DeLonghi and looks very similar so we decided to give it a try. On initially setting it up it made the right noises but no coffee came out! We were almost ready to pack it up and send it back when we remembered that when the DeLonghi ran out of water you need to turn the milk steamer on briefly for some reason before it will make coffee. This sorted the problem and out came delicious coffee. The first few cups lacked a "crema" but we are now getting a crema. Possibly the metal needed more washing/rinsing before use. Anyway so far after the initial hiccups we are very pleased with the machine. Our one remaining small quibble is that the platform for the cups is too low for espresso cups and you get a bit of splashing. It's fine for full size mugs and not a problem if you use the supplied stainless steel jug and then decant into an espresso cup.
