Definitely would purchase the perineal balm again!!!
I had a second degree tear after my vaginal delivery and it was painful even when I sneezed; it felt like the stitches will burst out every time I put pressure anywhere on my body. Every time I urinated, I felt the burning sensation and I dreaded going to the bathroom. As a result, I searched for any and every pain-relieving remedies and decided to get Earth Mama postpartum package (Perineal Balm, Herbal Perineal Spray, Herbal Sitz Bath).I don't think the Herbal Sitz Bath had any significant healing or pain-relieving effect; just doing the hot sitz bath for 10 minutes twice a day generally helped. There was no difference when I put Herbal Sitz Bath or not. As for Herbal Perineal Spray, I did enjoy the nice refreshing cucumber scent and the cooling sensation on the area I sprayed, but again, I don't think there was any significant healing or pain relieving effect. It was better than Herbal Sitz Bath in a sense that it lifted my mood up, however, I wouldn't spend $10 on it when it doesn't serve its purpose. I did like the Perineal Balm and this is the only item I will purchase again for my future hospital bag or my pregnant friends - it contains peppermint oil that gives immediate cooling sensation that definitely relieved my pain. $11 was well spent, especially given that one container probably lasts for two months which is enough time for the wounds to heal.In conclusion, I tried so many different remedies for my second degree tear snitches and general postpartum pain - the Earth Mama postpartum package, witch hazel pads, hospital kit (Dermoplast pain relieving spray, Tronlane anesthetic cream, Dibucaine ointment 1% topical analgesic, Hydrocortisone cream 1% anti-itch cream, cold packs, peri bottle, etc.). The only three things I'll recommend for postpartum are: Earth Mama Perineal Balm, sitz bath and peri bottle.

Earth Mama Organic Perineal Balm is Great Stuff that Works!
Earth Mama Organic Perineal Balm is great stuff and it works. It isn’t just for new moms either. Anyone with a perineum will like this stuff, in my opinion and in my personal experience of using this stuff. Whatever you may do that causes friction in this part of the body is a reason to use this balm. Such a small part of the body but it gets into the action in bicycling, walking quickly long distances to name just two activities. Add in to those sources of friction some skin dryness and some no-longer-being-a-tender-young-thing and, voila, you’re looking for some perineal kindness. Using a Q-tip as an applicator seems to be a clean and no-waste way to get the little dab of balm needed for the little but potentially powerfully vocal area: the perineum. Thanks, Earth Mama, wherever you are.

Helped me with bad extenal hemorroid pain...
Bought this after seaching what to use to help with hemorroid pain. I am pregnant and the baby is putting so much pressure on me that she caused me a really bad case of external hemorroid. Walking, standing, defecating was so painful. The doctor gave me hydrocortisone, did not work, the doctor gave me Lidocaine, but it was giving me bad heaches, do I decided to search for something natural. I found this cream while searching online and it has been a very good help, relieve for the hemorroid pain. Will buy more after my baby delivery. Thank you for helping ease this pain with something natural, that wont affect my unborn baby or give me headaches.

Wish I would have bought sooner!
Wish I would have bought this sooner. I am 2 weeks postpartum, and have tried everything to relieve the pain of my second degree tear. I bought two different kinds of witch hazel pads, perineal foam, and even this same brand in the spray version. Although I like the spray, for me it's only a very short temporary relief. The same goes for the witch hazel pads. While they felt nice and cool for a moment, it didn't last. I just got this balm delivered today and I felt immediate relief. It stays cool for longer because it is applied rather than sprayed. Definitely worth the buy, and I wish I could have bought sooner. Would definitely recommend!!
