The only floss I buy. I have receding gums which makes flossing painful with certain floss. Burst floss doesn’t dig into my gums yet gets anything that’s under the gum line. It’s easy to see whatever is removed during flossing because of the black color. I don’t have any issues with the floss getting stuck between my teeth or shredding. The price is a bit more than I prefer to pay, but each roll lasts me 1-2 months. I keep an extra floss in my purse to use at work or whenever needed. The floss has a slight minty taste without being overpowering. I recommend Burst to anyone looking for a floss that gets the job done without causing unnecessary pain to the teeth or gums.

I'd been using Johnson & Johnson's Reach Mint Waxed Dental Floss for literally decades. About 6 months ago, I noticed that the floss wasn't nearly as thick as it used to be, so it became pretty clear that J&J had joined the shrinkflation movement (a manufacturing practice where the physical size, volume, or weight of a product is reduced while its retail price remains the same). Pffft, another company trying to pull the wool over consumer's eyes... Then I saw an ad for Burst Expanding Dental Floss and decided to give it a try. I LOVE IT!!!! PROS: Because the floss expands, it completely fill the space between each tooth so errant food particles can't hide there; even if your teeth are very close together, Burst can fit. And the unusual black color shows everything you thought you were removing with your old floss. Plus, it's vegan and free of PFAS, PTFE, parabens, and BPA. If you're not a fan of the Mint Eucalyptus flavor, you can choose the Juniper Berry or Watermelon Mint flavors. And the cases are refillable so instead of buying a new package every time, keep the outer case and simply insert a new "bobbin". CONS: The price... You can buy floss like Reach at any grocery or drug store for about $1.50 for 55 yards, while Burst will set you back about $5.75 for an individual 40-yard case. Multi-packs are available but each individual floss case costs the same as if you bought 1 freestanding case. However, if you buy just the refills without the case, the cost per bobbin drops to about $5.00.

I’ve tried many types of dental floss, but this one stands out because it actually does what I need it to do. The floss is very easy to hold and doesn’t slip between my fingers during use, which makes flossing much more comfortable and controlled. What I especially like is that it expands when it comes into contact with saliva. Instead of simply sliding between teeth like traditional thin plastic floss, it gently expands to reach more surface area and clean deeper between the teeth. I can really feel the difference in how thoroughly it cleans the entire interdental space. The black color is also a great feature because it makes everything that is removed from between the teeth much easier to see. This gives me confidence that the floss is actually doing its job. One personal tip: I like adding a small amount of toothpaste to the floss before using it. It makes the cleaning process feel even fresher and more effective. Overall, this floss has made my daily routine much better. It is comfortable to use, highly effective, and gives a deeper clean than regular floss.

I have no complaints. Flavor is nice. Floss fits nicely between my teeth and doesn't fray. I like that it's black because I can more easily see the plaque that comes out. I noticed this is the best priced PFOA free floss besides Whole Foods brand, which kind of sucks.

I have become genuinely obsessed with flossing because of this product, and I’m not entirely sure that’s a compliment to my dental hygiene history. The floss is black, which means every single piece of debris it pulls out is on full, horrifying display like some kind of dental crime scene investigation. I floss now and just stare at it like I’m reading tea leaves, except instead of predicting my future I’m questioning my entire past. Where is all of this coming from? I eat the same meals every day. I am not secretly snacking on gravel. And yet every night this floss emerges looking like it went spelunking. It’s thicker than other flosses I’ve tried, so it actually gets in there and excavates like it’s on a mission, and somehow that makes it MORE satisfying, not less. I genuinely look forward to flossing now, which is a sentence I never thought I’d say out loud, let alone type into an Amazon review. I get it now. I get why this has a million five-star reviews. People aren’t lying. This floss turned me from a “flosses for the dentist visit only” person into someone who flosses nightly purely out of morbid curiosity. Ten out of ten, would be horrified again.

Great floss! It’s thicker than normal floss which is great if you have wide spaces between your teeth. It can sometimes be tough to pull off the roll.

I thought I was a devotee of the best selling expanding floss, but I’m switching to Burst black expanding floss. First of all it is even better and half the price! I have irregular teeth but I’ve experienced no problems with this floss shredding. I love that it expands and it’s black so the plaque shows up well. It’s crazy easy to use even with my arthritic hands. I am praying that my next dental checkup confirms what I’m feeling… now I’m worried that I’ve written another rave review that might raise the price of the item. Please keep the price the same. I’m reordering today! In addition, I saw my dentist yesterday and not only are my old teeth in “perfect condition,” but she recommended burst as well!

I like that this floss is black and easily shows all of the food that comes out! This flops feels great between the teeth and is smooth. You can feel it take everything out. I buy lots of floss and this one is one of my favorites so far.

This dental floss is fantastic. Amazing. After years mostly happy with my old floss it was discontinued. There followed lots of wasted money trying all different brands of flosses. New ones are all plastic now and are often so thin and hard to grip around fingers to use easily. I read the reviews of this one and to say I am happy is an understatement. It is easy to use as it is not so thin as to be impossible to hold. It glides nicely between teeth and I have quite narrow gaps and it is still fine. No shredding or breaking at all so no wastage. Nice minty taste. It just feels like it is doing a good job. I just hope this one remains available indefinitely as I would go so far as to say it is the best floss I have ever used and I'm talking 50 years of flossing. Yes, I'm very happy.

Cleans properly

I recommend. Probably not the best floss I have ever used, but I will buy it again. It is thicker than others, so if you have tight spaces, you may struggle a bit. Hopefully, no nasty chemicals in its composition.
