Good mobile for elderly

This is a nice item to use, easy setup, nice clear white on black screen, not cluttered with some image. Offers basic functionality which is what I was after but also has two very useful speed dial buttons. The only moan is that the unit is meant for the elderly but the user guide text is so small I had to resort to a magnifying glass to read it

The large buttons make it super easy for my parents to see and use, which is exactly what we were looking for. The phone is unlocked, so we could easily choose our service provider. The SOS button, which gives us peace of mind knowing that help is just a press away. The charging cradle makes it simple for them to keep the phone charged without fuss. The camera allows them to take pictures easily.

This is a very basic phone compared to what we are all used to now with reasonably large easy to press buttons. The screen is clear although noticeably smaller than could have been fitted in the space meaning text is not as large as I would have hoped for such a device. The SOS button is a useful feature which if held down for a couple of seconds calls the pre-stored phone numbers. The dual SIM feature seems a bit pointless given the intended audience, I can’t see many people using that feature. The same is true of other features such as the camera, calendar, FM radio etc. it feels like this phone is just using generic hardware/software rather than being genuinely design from the ground up for people who struggle for whatever reason to use modern technology. To be fair I think the same is true of most of these types of ‘seniors’ mobiles and so long as the user can grasp the basics the unnecessary features can largely just be ignored.

The camera is pretty basic, so if you’re after Instagram-worthy snaps, this isn’t the phone for you.And while it claims to have a built-in FM radio, I found the reception a bit hit-and-miss, but that’s easily overlooked for the price.Overall, I’d say the DENVER BAS-18500m is a grand little device for those looking for straightforward functionality.
