I have a lot of faith in this stuff. The fact that your issue is with a remote control volume pot is neither hear nor there! Using it manually if there is a crackle at a certain "point on the dial" it'll probably help. You'll have to pull the knob off so you can access the spindle and then just spray in small quantity on the shaft letting in soak through. give it a few minutes and then firmly twist the volume control up and down through it's full range. It may as good for cleaning contacts but will not dissolve corrosion. Possibly wd40 may be a solution.
