Sony QX1 Smartphone Attachable Mirrorless Digital Camera- Body Only

Impressive quality for such a small form factor, great for travel, great quality(Similar to a mid-level DSLR). This is what a casual photographer , looking for good quality needs. Good idea with lots of positives but some negatives. I liked the compact size, the quality of the images and the color production in the images. I was not a fan of having to carry a back-up battery for the smartphone, the app for this device is a little slow, and on continuous this device no matter the shutter speed was definitely lagging.

Super fun camera that's a bit pricey. If you want shorter shot-to-shot time, turn off preview and save image on the playmemories app. This will require you to save on the camera. You can continue to shoot even if the processing pop up is displayed.

I really wanted to put 5 stars but so far I'm not satisfied enough. Probably because I was expecting too much! First I want to say that for an innovation this product is pretty awesome but there are a few things that are annoying enough to complicate the usage of the QX1. I'll but the cons only because I'm not knowledgeable enough to compare with other products. Cons: - The wifi connection with the QX1 gives your phone a very low resolution which makes it impossible for manual focus (but no choppiness while moving)! This is especially true if your phone has a resolution higher than 720p. - Auto focus makes the moving on screen very choppy. It's almost like playing a pc game that requires too much and all you see is very low frame rate. - There are a lot of options on the sony playmemories app that cannot be touched which makes it somewhat limited. - The attachment options for phones, tablets or other devices are not explained enough and you can easily buy this device and find out that it does not fit your phone unless you buy an extra clip attachment. The original clip extends only 8cm. - And why is there a wierd password on the battery cover that you have to put every time you want to connect to a new device? Overall I think this is like a GOPRO that has the option of switching between real e-mount lenses and takes better pictures but of course it's a lot more fragile and bigger. If the choppiness and the resolution on the screen are somehow fixed it will improve the usage of the QX1 greatly!

The image quality is great, shoots RAW and it's fantastic for Social Media events.
