Easy lock
Easy to install. Easy to use. I put it on my French door. So far it was worth it

Perfect for keeping crafty kids corralled
I bought this to keep a 5yo escape artist out of his teenage sister's room. It's easy to install, doesn't leave anything more than a tiny screw hole if you want to uninstall it, and it does exactly what I need it to do.Other products we've tried are sufficient for keeping some kids from getting where they shouldn't, but this kid in particular is pretty clever and has defeated many of the other child locks we've tried.

Peace of mind
This is of the best thing I’ve ever found I have an autistic granddaughter non verbal that has snuck out of the house panic panic this has enabled me to lock it without locking it allows you to slide the mechanism in place and keep the door secure, but you can still open it and close it from either side no key needed highly recommended if you have children with disabilities or even senior citizens with dementia, they like to wander off. It allows my daughter that lives upstairs to come in and out of my apartment without needing a key, great time saver and convenience for the rest of us

Exactly as described, but definitely doesn't work with cheaper door frames
I'll start by advising that I rent and the door frame and door to my bathroom are very cheap quality. I got these as a last hail Mary hoping this would keep my 15 month old out of the bathroom. It didn't last 10 minutes. I followed all directions when installing, but after he tried for the 4th time to get into the bathroom, he managed to just rip it out.I'm not sure honestly if it's the cheap materials used in my rentals, the item or a little bit of both.

Great lock but could use some improvements
This door lock installs easily and works well for our purposes. We are tall so it is easy for us to reach/use while keeping in our little one who is tall enough to reach/use the door handles and smart enough to have figured out all the other locks. And unlike other high-up locks (deadbolts, chains, etc) this can be operated from both sides. And so far it has been strong enough to withstand her pulling on the door (but she hasn't been actively TRYING to break out; she generally gives up when she meets resistance, knowing the door is locked). I will update my review if that changes. It slides easily, but that's really going to depend on what condition your door and frame are in. I like that it comes in a pack of 2.My primary gripes:1) The picture in the instructions does not match the actual item. So that does throw you for a loop when you're trying to figure out which orientation it should be in. I have another door lock like this that DOES look like the picture, and that's what I thought I was getting, so I was a little disappointed (see my pictures for comparisons). This design sticks out awkwardly past the door, into the room, so it's not going to blend into your decor or anything.2) On the other hand, it doesn't stick out far ENOUGH on the peg side. I wish we could put the peg closer to the center of the door frame so it would be stronger. The previous lock we used had the same exact protrusion on the peg side, putting the peg/screw too close to the edge of the door frame, so when an adult visitor to our home tried to open the door and pulled too hard, they ripped it out, blowing right through the edge of the wood. I was hoping this one would protrude further than the previous one, but it doesn't. A longer screw might help as an alternative? It just needs to be anchored a little better. But definitely make sure to let visitors know about the locks or put a note on your doors like we now do.Good tip: We labeled our lock and used a piece of tape on the inside of the door to reference where the peg is so we know when it is locked or unlocked (see pictures). No need to do this on the outside since you can see the peg and whether it is locked or not!

Amazing!
My two year old has figured out every other childproofing product we have tried. This has worked great and has given me peace of mind that he can’t get into rooms that aren’t safe. Super easy to install and use!

Functional
Not the most attractive solution. However, it was extremely easy to install and now we are able to lock our French doors without having to drill into the door itself (just a couple of holes in the frame above the lock). It's been easy to use so far and keeps our kids out of an area that we don't necessarily want them in.
