RainPoint 3-in-1 APP Remote Monitoring WiFi Soil Meter - CAN NOT USE Alone

Works fast and is easy to use

Physically much larger than the standard RainPoint moisture sensor and creates a signifigantly deeper and more aggresive cut into the soil. I was able to make it work on a 16" planter (shishigishara), but it took more force than expected and cut more roots than I would've preferred. Otherwise, using the default soil type, it seems to track moisture along the same line as their other moisture sensors. That is to say, at least for coarse bonsai soil, it indicates the soil is much lower moisture than it actually is. Adjusting for this, I'd say it's consistent and accurate. The LUX and temp sensors give a nice baseline, but I'm guessing they're not accurate relative to high end sensors but they give you the idea of max, min, and average.

Works great just make sure you check which hub you need. Having the history is nice. If this is outside you can use this as an outdoor thermometer, but you have to use the app see each time.

I really wanted this to work. I love many of the company's other products, but for remote moisture measurements, this and the other variant I bought both just don't work at all. Other products by RainPoint (all remote watering systems) are very good. Sadly, this is just a hard thing to do.

Not very accurate

This rain point water meter is amazing! I can easily check the soil with this on my app. You need a hub to connect it to.

Packaging was good, although shipping was late. The product is easy to connect to the network and is consistent. The color ring is VERY hard to read in the daylight/suhnshine. I really wish it had a soil temperature sensor. Value is average in my opinion. I really like the VEGO products and will continue to order from them.

Sensor works great as a sensor alone. This sensor is designed to be part of an eco-system. The only reason I haven’t given it 5 star is the Homgar app still needs some work, especially in the programming/scheduling (no time delays available for purging lines for example) and charts don’t show sensor labels, so all sensors look the same on charts. A major update came down that added scenes that were a big improvement over simple schedules, but I am trying to optimize for limited well water in a drip system and need more flexibility in the programming in the app. Also need to be able to export logs. Since there was a major update with major improvements at the time I write this, it appears its still under development and I suspect that the app will only get better with time.
