Contrary to the first customer review post of this item, dated May 4 which reads more like a shill post, the quality of this item is substantially sub-par. I did not receive the item shown. At time of purchase, the enlarged photo of the Apple doc connector showed the socket retention pins on either side of the connection board inside the doc housing. The item I received did not have these retention devices as found with other quality aftermarket products.My initial intent was to rate it one star, as out of the package it would not work on three different devices with the old Apple 30 pin doc. However, upon closer inspection when I found the lack of the retention pins, I also noticed the electronic connection point/board/wafer(?) was laying over in such a way that it would be impossible to connect to anything. So I took an old credit card re-purposed as a tool, and used it to force the afore mentioned "board?" into apparent alignment by sliding the card in between the "board" and the outer housing. By doing this, the doc adapter did function as desired.With it's poor construction, I do not expect this product to last very long. It is obvious that it will not tolerate moving from one device to another very many times.Products such as this one is what keeps me from buying similar products on Amazon.

This does exactly what I hoped. This gives me a simple clean way to plug a ChomeCast audio dongle with an old JBL On Stage 400p iPod dock. Provides power and connects audio. Works great so far.EDIT: Firstly I bought a second one. The audio is not connected on this one and I am returning it. I will try a third. Wish me luck.Secondly, even though it worked fine with chromecast audio I had problems using this with Echo Input. Audio was very noisy when I used power from the JBL speakers. It was fine when I used power from the 5V supply that came with the input. I am not sure what is going on, ground loops?

No sooner I connected to my Ipod connector, it stuck on and couldn't get it back off. My connector has tabs to squeeze for release and still couldn't get it back off. After using a little force, the wiring came apart from the plastic housing. This thing is pretty cheap. Plus, didn't even connect to the android phone it claims to. Wrong plug head.

I thought I could power my ChromeCast Audio from this, and maybe use it for the audio input as well, saving a power adapter and an audio cable.First off, the iPod plug fell apart the first time plugged it in. It produces noise on the audio input, even when the audio is not plugged in. I thought maybe I could salvage at least the power supply part by removing the audio cable from the plug, but this didn't help either.I guess there's a reason why all of these adapters have terrible reviews. I thought "how bad could it be", now I know.

Resurrected some older JBL speaker with ipod doc. I wanted to play off my phone and this did the trick. Now I don't have to navigate the ever growing blue tooth speaker market and saved. Forgotten what great sound the speakers have and I'm grateful I found this product.

I installed this between an Alpine car head unit (with 3/4th gen iPod adapter cord) and my Samsung 7Edge - nothing. The head unit reads "searching" and no music plays. This adapter isn't wired correctly to accept music from your phone's headphone jack.

Arrived as a plastic shell with a bent piece of cardboard inside. There's no way it would work, definitely garbage.

not glued together from factory. Its almost a wire to wire adapter. No signal adapting whatsoever. Failed to work
