The Chromecast 4K has completely upgraded my TV setup. Setup was super easy—just plug it in, connect to Wi-Fi, and you’re ready to go. The picture quality is sharp and vibrant, and streaming in 4K HDR looks amazing. It runs smoothly with no lag, and switching between apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Disney+ is seamless.I really like the included remote with voice control—it makes finding shows so much quicker, and it’s nice not to always rely on my phone. I currently have this hooked up in my prayer closet which also doubles as my "movie theater" for my daughter and I to watch movies together. I have also taken it a hotel so I could watch streaming TV while on vacation. The versatility and portability of the device is amazing. The setup was extremely easy for me though I have setup several Google devices over the last few years, so your mileage may vary. The quality of the streaming, audio, and video have been amazing for me and I've never had any issues with excessive buffering except when my family has a lot of devices actively streaming on the shared router. I find that the remote is very responsive, almost too responsive, with an excellent battery life. Overall, i would consider this device to be a good value for the money and I would highly recommend it to someone looking for a streaming device.

We used to have a firestick for years then when we switched to xfinity they gave us their box to use and we stuck with that for a while. After switching wifi again we needed another box, the tv we have is pre smart tv sadly. This box has a sleek design, is super easy to use, is fast and hasn't frozen yet. It was a little more expensive then i would have liked however over all it was worth it. Also as a side note I like that the remote is white ... all past remotes have been black which blends right into our black couches.

This was an upgrade from a Chromecast 4K Google TV that I bought to get a snappier UI, and it does that, so I'm happy. I have used various Google TV dongles everywhere, even plugging them into hotel TVs and generally like them. Because they are Android, you can run the Android Debug Bridge in Home Assistant to automate your TV because of the ability to send and receive ADB commands, which is a great feature.For example, when Movie Mode is turned in in Home Assistant, we can automate lights based upon whether the Google TV is Playing or Paused. In our case I use a 15 second delay to dim or brighten the lights after Pause or Play is pressed.But I will dock this device a star over a flaw that the previous device didn't have: when plugged into ethernet, the device will drop offline every day or two, requiring the network cable to be unplugged/re-plugged. Apparently this is common in the situation where you plug the Google TV into your network via an unmanaged switch rather than directly into your router. If you've also set up Wi-Fi, it will switch to that and never come back to the wired connection until the device is restarted (or the network connection is unplugged-re-plugged)My way around this was to unplug it from ethernet, and swap it's power supply to my old Chromecast 4K power supply, which includes a network adapter in the adapter itself - plug the cable to that instead. Yes, that drops my potential bandwidth from gigabit to 100Mbs, but that is still plenty of bandwidth and that network adapter never had this problem. Maybe a future firmware release will fix this, but running a cable directly from this to my router was just not acceptable to me, as was using WiFi; I've been running all of the Chromecasts on ethernet for years (there have been wired adapters around for a very long time)So good device, bad network adapter.

Upgraded from a chromecast, to take advantage of the ethernet interface. It works great and is rock solid.I have a TP-Link Deco wifi 7 mesh network with a 2.5gb ethernet backhaul, and connected the Google TV Streamer to a Deco ethernet port. Unfortunately the Deco default installation routed from the ethernet to wifi, so casting to the Streamer from wifi didn't work. Fortunately it was surprisingly easy to convert the Deco mesh to "AP" (bridged) mode, and now casting works perfectly from all ethernet and wifi connected devices. Anyway, if you use the Streamer's ethernet interface, make _sure_ it's on the same (bridged) IP network as your wifi, or casting will not work.Streaming over the ethernet is solid - I have seen no stutters or delays that I did see occasionally with the chromecast on wifi.I control everything (Streamer, Samsung TV, Verizon cable, and external audio amp) with my sofabaton u2. It doesn't have named support for the "Google TV Streamer" yet, but its "Chromecast" support works fine.My stereo amp is connected to my Samsung TV's optical output, and I have no audio problems with the Streamer as input.It's a solid system, and a worthwhile upgrade.

Great HDMI streamer. It's Google TV and I like their system. Button control is awesome. Compatible with all the apps. Easy to use and links to your google account. Battery life is good. Nice and responsive. Not too cluttered. Recommend
