This is a review of the Donner MAMP5 1000W version. I originally ordered a Donner MAMP7 unit, but the fan was too noisy so I exchanged it for this one. I've only been listening to it for a day, but I really like it, just as I did with the MAMP7 except for the fan. It has silent operation, no hum or anything else annoying (and that stuff IS annoying!). I have a pair of old JBL Studio Monitor speakers that have $Million bass and treble but only $100 mid-range, so I was looking specifically for an amp that had all 3 tone controls ~ bass, mid-range and treble. I'm mostly house-bound and listen to music all the time, I was tired of trying to find a decent software / extension audio equalizer for for my Brave browser but none of them worked according to what my brain and ears (Einstein said that if your solution was complicated, it was probably wrong) wanted, so I decided to try the Donner amp. After one day, I feel totally satisfied with the tone that's coming out of those ancient JBLs (for you olde farts, I took a copy of The Who's 'Magic Bus' from the Live At Leeds album with me when I bought speakers, as I write this it's The Doors 'Strange Days' album) ). I haven't tried all of the features yet, like Echo and the Modes and FM radio. The other reason I like this amp is that it has controls for two sets of speakers, so I will be hanging up my beloved Bose powered computer speakers for a set of un-powered speakers to hook up to the Donner. After just one day, I give this amp 5 Stars for making my JBL speakers come to life for under $175.

Bought this as my husbands birthday present because he has big speakers but nothing to connect them too. He absolutely loves it and said it was super easy to set up and connect and they are compatible with the speakers that he has and I assume a bunch of other too. The sound comes through clear with no connection issues. It’s pricier than I was expecting but the quality of it is well worth the price. He doesn’t use the remote control a bunch just because he bluetooth it to his phone so he just keeps it on but I have seen him use it occasionally and it comes in handy. Overall a great product.

This is a great sounding receiver. I bought this for when I'm working in the garage and also working outside. It has plenty of power with great sound. The couple cons it that one of them is tuning in radio stations, isn't friendly. The Bluetooth works good but it doesn't carry a far distance, maybe 10 feet. I had a Bluetooth device and hooked it up to the DVD input for I can get a greater distance, works great. If you are looking for something cheap and sounds great, I would highly recommend this tuner. The only reason I didn't give it a five stars is for the couple cons that I for it.

This amp receiver has to be the biggest disappointment of an amp that I've ever had. I'm running 2 Jamo tower speakers and 2 very capable Sony reference speakers along with a KLH sub in my garage (see pics). This amp CANNOT push these well at all, despite being advertised with high numbers. Sound is horrible. The EQ settings are on the higher tones. I set the mids and the highs to zero or negative 5, then set the bass to 10 and honestly, there's no bass on my speakers. I bought this to replace my $40 Pyle amp which is surprisingly good with the exception of a very loud fan. It thumps and sounds good with my speaker setup, but the fan noise is annoying with higher volumes. The speaker connections are very weird and surprisingly confusing. It's advertised as a 4 ch amp however, there's 4 sets of left and 4 sets of right speaker connections. Mmmmm, that's 8 channel not 4. I tried several different connection combos but they all just ain't cutting it. On top of this, every channel has a dedicated volume knob. Why? I had high hopes for this amp but it's going back and I'll just keep my cheap but capable Pyle 4 ch amp that pushes so much sound on all levels with clarity at low volumes. I don't know how people are giving 5 stars on this unit. I can't give more than 1 star, just can't. Maybe my unit might be defective, I just don't know. What I know is the unit I have is absolutely trash.

Well so far so good, works great for me, plays my Amazon dot perfectly, plays my Sony cd perfectly, plays fm station perfectly with the help of a dedicated fm antenna. Set system up in my garage using the help of copilot assistant made hooking things up a breeze, I recommend using copilot for help if you have trouble figuring out how to set system up, they know anything you ask them about how to set it up correctly and they do it free!! I will use this street for a few months and report back how it’s going, but so far I’m a happy camper.

Look like this was already used. Came really scrated up. Still works but damn I ordered this new. Kinda sucks

Mooi overzichtelijk apparaat. De FM radio is nog met ruis, ik heb een nieuwe FM antenne gekocht en is onderweg. Ik hoop dat dat het is, want ik voel ook dat het plugje waar de antenne op moet los zit. Dus nog even afwachten. Anders moet ie wrs terug. Jammer dat er niet gewoon een antenne bij zit (min puntje). Update: met de nieuwe antenne is de ruis wel wat minder, maar nog niet helemaal weg. Wellicht zit ik gewoon in een slechte omgeving qua ontvangst.
