Hurricane Replacement Spa Filter Cartridge for Unicel C-7656, Pleatco PA50, Filbur FC-1240, Hayward Star-Clear C500, & Hayward Easy Clear C550

I bought the HF7656-01 as a replacement for a Hayward RGX70GE Grid Element which seems to blow out every few years. At a couple hundred a pop the Hurricane filter was worth a shot at less than forty. So far, after more than a year (5/25) it has held up to my 2-speed 1 1/2 hp pump. As of 8/26 the filter paper is starting to weaken so I will buy another but I will try the purple version

This is a great filter for my above ground pool. It’s durable, lasts for the whole season. I save it over the winter to use for initial cleaning when opening pool and then switch to a new one for the summer swim season. It’s a great value, easy to clean with a garden hose and does a great job at filtering fine particles.

Works great, the fit is a bit tight, so you may have to be careful taking it out of the tank.

Seems to work as well s the pleatco and is half price . Fit a bit more snug than the pleatco . Will update review after several cleanings. Hopefully it is as durable.

This cartridge clogs up and turned my pool green in less than 2 and a half weeks - even when it looks clean - the material it is made out of is still clogged and does not allow water to filter through. With this filter in my pool filter PSI went up to 35 and this could have blown up the entire housing. Please please - do not buy this. There is a reason it’s half the price of any other filter - could have been a very costly repair.
