Flawed Design, Cheaply made Lid
You can see from the opening photo the jar has a rubber stopper in the top to be removed to allow airflow through to enable a quick pour. The one Amazon send you does not have this, it’s a sealed glass jar. As a result, it pours incredibly slowly. That’s if you can get it that far. The lid itself is incredibly cheap metal, the next step up from tin foil. The tap is very cheap plastic, you have to hold it still with one hand as you turn the arm. Doing it one handed feels like it’d snap clean off. And the fact that the arm is forward when closed means it hits whatever you might have in the door shelf of your fridge. The lid has a separate rubber seal behind it, that’s nether wide enough to meet the entire edge to create a solid seal or is wide enough at the rim to maintain a solid seal. Because if this it’s incredibly difficult to get the lid on tight enough to stop it leaking. I’m a averaged sized man who works a physical job and struggle to get this lid tight enough. 6 attempts last time to secure it without leaking, thou the lid is so thin it bends in your hand.Shame because it’s a very nice jar. Ruined by a cheap lid and tap that isn’t water tight at all and will only get worse the more you use it.

Birthday present.
Bought this for my son for present. He was really pleased and the fact you can fit it on shelf in fridge without moving shelves around. Looks really nice and good quality. Would recommend this product.

Should never have bought this thing, and neither should you.
Title says it all. I should have just gone with a vertical water pitcher with a lid rather than this thing.I could recommend it if the lid and tap were decent - but they are quite the opposite...The tap is some plastic filth that feels like it's about to break every time I use it, with a terrible flow rate too. Strangely, that's not the worst part. The lid here is astonishingly bad. As others have stated, it leaks regardless of how tight it's fastened on - and you'll wanna watch out for that as it becomes an absolute pain to unscrew.Considering Kilner's reputation, I have no idea why the quality of this product is so low. The glass is semi-decent, but to be honest that part doesn't matter as much if you don't provide quality in other areas that matter more - areas that affect the user experience of this product. I hardly ever refill this anymore because it's just too much of a pain, and I know it'll just waste my liquids through that terrible lid leak.Do not buy this, unless you really really don't have the space for anything else and are willing to find a replacement tap at the very least - although for the added cost of a new tap, you could probably just buy a better product in the first place.Hopefully it'll redeem itself in the future once I've found some parts to fix it's flaws.

seal not working
The problem is the seal does not work and is leaking. Can find a way of getting a new seal without returning the item as faulty.

Lid & tap must be correctly and tightly assembled
The idea of this dispenser was perfect for my intended use of storing draught still cider in the fridge, but two rather negative reviews mentioning "cheap lid", "flimsy lid" and "leakages" etc., nearly put me off, but not quite.Sure, the aluminium lid is a bit thin, but the rim and tap seals are perfectly adequate. Seals only work when you tighten the two opposing pieces - ask any plumber! On one refill, I forgot to check the tightness of the nut behind the tap and when the jar was horizontal, there was a slight leak, BUT THAT WAS MY FAULT.Taking care to twist the lid on properly is a knack which also needs some practise - clearly your other reviewers hadn't done their job properly.

Looks good and works well
Lovely glass dispenser. Looks good in fridge. Having read a couple of reviews re leaking I was concerned but I realised setting it up incorrectly the first couple of times that if you don’t put the lid on with the tap at the bottom and the blue rubber air hole at the top it will leak. Set up that way so far no leaks at all in the fridge. I like the wide opening as it’s easy to fill and I can easily put ice in it or fruit in it if wanted.

Delightfully terrible
Well what to say about this jug that isn't outright negative... Hmm... It's a good size I guess?! At least when you can get the lid, inner rubber seal ring and cover to all fit in perfect harmony, which is maybe 1 in 10 times no matter how you attempt to do it. This lid design needs a serious overhaul for this jug to work for the average impatient person. Even my vast patience was tested and it leaks most of the time. Cheap, large, otherwise a complete waste of time and money.

Leaks everywhere
Don't bother with this product.I persisted with this product for a couple of weeks however it leaks constantly. If you tighten the lid a little bit too tight the seal buckles and therefore the water leaks. If you don't tighten it enough, the seal is not tight enough and therefore the water leaks. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground. The result - a fridge full of water.I have bought many Kilner products in the past which have been excellent but this doesn't meet their usual standard. The problem with this is the lid and the seal. They are of very poor quality and do not do the job. Also, another flaw is that the air inlet hole in the lid doesn't let any air back in as it is covered by the seal resulting in slower and slower water from the tap.Very disappointed.
