The Q60B soundbar provided a significant, immediate improvement to my Samsung TV. It integrates well and was a snap to set up. Samsung put some engineering thought into how the two should sound together.Q-Symphony (only available on newer Samsung TVs) integrates the two products and sounds better than the soundbar by itself. It makes dialog much clearer. Try it on a blockbuster movie - the woofer really makes the dynamic range impressive.The soundbar is superb for music as well. You can stream Spotify, etc. directly via Bluetooth from your phone but once again — Q-Symphony sounds significantly better than the soundbar alone. Smoother, dramatic highs, wider soundstage. I’m guessing that it has something to do with the Dolby/DTS processing, not just the extra two speakers on the corners of the Samsung TV. But the benefits disappear when you turn off the TV and listen to the soundbar alone (e.g., streaming directly to the Q60B over bluetooth).Set-Up Notes:1) It takes a little tweaking to get the optimum performance. The subwoofer was too boomy out of the box. I decreased bass -3 and increased treble +2.2) I tried all the surround modes repeatedly and “Surround Sound” was the best. The other modes pull everything into a narrow sound stage.3) If you get lost during set up - find a YouTube video. The Owners manual is useless.

Please read this review as 4.5 stars. This unit gets high marks from most professional reviewers, and rightly so. Due to advancing age and the realization that I won't be hefting 40lb receivers and 80lb speakers much longer, I decided to start downsizing - and this was the first thing I did. Glad too. It is as good as advertised with only minor criticisms. Out-of-box it is powerful loud, seemingly louder using eArc than the HDMI inputs. (I recommend a break-in period for the speakers before too critical a listen). The center channel seems a bit dominant, L/R mains a bit weak, and low bass prominent with weaker mid-bass. The claimed pass-through capability is only if the soundbar is turned on - it will not pass audio/video if it is off, so if you are planning to use the unit as a hub, just be aware that it is NOT passive pass-through. There are four sound modes but EQ is only available on "Standard"which is unfortunate as it could be positively applied otherwise. I would like to recommend that the next iteration have EQ available in all modes and each speaker individually addressable as well. Right now only Bass/Treble sliders are available for the advanced sound modes (Surround, Adaptive). One critique is that ATMOS is a bit weak, not that it matters much since ATMOS material is not always mentioned in the program descriptions of the various streaming sites when selecting a viewing choice. Fandango does a good job of identifying ATMOS coded offerings but not the other streamers. Amazon Prime Video only offers ATMOS if you pay the extra fee for no commercials, but even then the audio description is missing (I subscribed to no commercials for two days and never saw the word "ATMOS"). I did download some demo files and detected a faint ATMOS effect when playing them through the system. There are two sound adjustments one may employ that attenuate the sound, they are called "SpaceFit" and "Adaptive". I am still trying to figure out what they do, although I did notice a slight echoing effect using Adaptive. The remote is small and sparsely populated with buttons, several of which have arcane double button presses for "hidden" functions. The mobile app is much better and quite handy - highly recommended. In sum, a great sounding system that's even better after break-in. I sincerely hope for better EQ capabilities in the future.

This is replacing an HT 7.1 setup. I didn't imagine the sound could be so immersive compared to what I had before. The best thing is the setup was simple and you don't need to run any wires other than plugging the soundbar, subwoofer and rear speakers. The app makes tuning the sound simple for your environment. You can also tap your Samsung phone to the soundbar to stream music. The app has a decent amount of settings which allows you to adjust the sound to your liking. The construction of the system is of a solid build quality. I believe with a Samsung TV you get some added benefits like a direct center channel thru the TV and some on screen controls. The remote is fairly simple to use but the app works just fine in place of it. I've watched several movies and have to say that dialog comes thru well and is balanced with the sound effects. I had the volume at around 15-20 and that is more than enough for me. I would say that this is a well made sound system that you will not regret purchasing.

Great product and service

Sind umgezogen und in einem ca. 20m²-großen Wohnzimmer ein kleines "Heimkino" aufgebaut. Die HW-Q990D sind ein top Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und sie liefern was sie versprechen.Man kann diese Boxen auch ohne Probleme komplett ohne das Samsung-Eco-System verwenden. Ich persönlich verabscheue jegliche Eco-System-Verpflichtungen, wie es beispielsweise bei Samsung's Monitoren o.Ä. der Fall ist, hier war ich also sehr erleichtert.Wenn es Samsung-Geräte generell mit besserer QA und weniger Eco-System gäbe, würde ich vermutlich öfter von Samsung kaufen. In diesem Fall war es nach Recherche einfach die beste Lösung, diese Samsung-Dolby-Atmos-Soundbar zu kaufen. Ich bereue diesen Kauf nicht.

Super barre de son, fonctionne très bien, pour le réglage des satellites j'ai lu les différents commentaires, avec un peu de recherche, ça fonctionne très bien
