Loved group effort
Overall, we liked this… but found it difficult to do it in small area. Make space, and have an open mind! For our family, some of the text choices (handwriting font) were hard for some to read, so one person did have to read a majority of the information — which was still fun, but it wasn’t as easy to move on quickly as splitting and sharing our perspectives afterwards. For us, it did hinder our fun a little bit that only some could partially participate. Keep this in mind when it comes to gifting - someone who needs large print or has trouble with certain fonts. Truly, it was well sorted out, came paper clipped together. . And felt like we were pretty well prepared and not chaos from the start. Instructions were very clear, and the interactive portion the game added was a nice little surprise. This isn’t a revisit/redo kinda game. It’s a one and done. It doesn’t mean you can’t keep it for other visitors or friend groups and play along with them… it was super exciting to hear everyone’s thoughts and opinions & really fun when the little battles started between family members.

Excellent for a mystery dinner!
This was a greatly fun mystery to solve! I plan to do it for a church mystery dinner, so I had to check it out. It's not too easy, not too hard, and there wasn't anything really offensive to edit out in order to use it for the church setting. I think we are really going to enjoy this!

This was fun.
Ok, so One of the other reviews says they opened it and the answer was right there and they couldn't avoid it. I'd like to say, they're full of it. I took this review into consideration and when I opened the package, which is sealed in a paper envelope, (no plastic to be seen Yay!!) I was greeted with several more individually packaged envelopes in a folder. You open the folder, it has the instructions. Great. It gives you very clear step by step instructions. Unless this person got an open one, which would have been OBVIOUS, i don't understand how they messed this up. Did they open it like a feral animal or toddler?? Anyway the game was great, my parents were in town and we did spent a few hours playing detective. You can play it alone as well. So we each went through the evidence and then we came together to talk about what we found. This is an interactive game and you move on to the next piece when you've solved the one before it. There is an app that you communicate with the investigation leader. We loved this, it wasn't ambiguous when or if we figured it out. Totally worth the money. And for the ones that are upset that you can only play it once, well have you ever heard of sharing??? Give it to the next person, donate it, damn, sell it if you really can't just pay it forward!! Y'all are ridiculous.

Love love love it!
I love these kinds of things - solving cases - I've always been into detective books and shows. When I was a kid I was always about Encyclopedia Brown. And as an adult Ellery Queen. It's awesome that they make these so you can play it on your own. (I don't like the ones that say you need at least 2 people to play.) These are KIND OF like having your own escape room game, but not as much interaction. Not that this doesn't have interaction! How neat is it that you have "Charlie"! He is like your assistant and helper should you get stuck. Excellent. This is so fun. And I think $25 is very reasonable - for goodness sake, that's at least what you'd pay to do an hour escape room. Only thing that stinks is that it's a one and done. So once you play, you gotta give it away. But again, so worth it! I recommend highly!

Game is spoiled
As soon as you open the packet there is an inventory list and it reveals the confession statement with the killers name on it.

Fun but missing envelope
Fun mystery set but was missing everything in Envelope 2! Such a bummer, but hopefully it was just a one-off mistake.

A crime-solving project we won’t forget
I picked up The Edward Munst Case on a whim and brought it along on vacation for playing while camping, and it turned out to be one of the most engaging evenings we’ve had in a long time. The case file is packed—I’m talking over 30 pieces of evidence, including police reports, autopsy results, crime scene photos, and handwritten notes. It really made us feel like true detectives trying to crack a cold case. My son really got into it, and we were talking about the clues during our long car ride home as a family. We spread everything out on a picnic table and immediately got sucked in. The details were rich, the storyline was believable, and the pacing was perfect. We still haven't entirely solved it, but the journey is fun. Every time we thought we had it figured out, a new twist would surface. I loved that it was accessible too—there are hints online if you get stuck, but we managed without them (we were camping and the internet was spotty), which felt incredibly satisfying. It’s perfect for couples, small groups, or even solo if you love a challenge. Once we finish this one, we’re already eyeing another case next month. If you like true crime or solving puzzles, this is a no-brainer. Lots of fun for the money.

Gets the old grey matter working
I've been itching to try this sort of "game". The whole idea of being given a set of clues for you to solve a fictional crime really appeals - I blame a childhood spent being obsessed with Cluedo. This comes really beautifully packaged and has a nice, premium feel. On opening the outer folder you are given 4 envelopes which are clearly labelled for the order in which you open them based on where in the case you have got up to. The first envelope has a ton of information about the main characters involved in the crime and they are laid out in handy little "packets" with photos and faux handwritten notes about them. The print is clear and easy to read. There are also printed newspaper articles, a letter explaining what we are investigating and how to go about it. The absolute beauty of this is that you can work through it slowly on your own or make it a collaborative event. I did start off working on this solo but it did get my husband's attention so we are spending some time together going through the information and debating points when one of us sees something that could be a clue. It is a LOT of fun and really gets your brain working overtime. What I would say is get yourself a good notebook and take notes. Don't be afraid of going back and re-reading items, especially when you get in to the later envelopes; there's nothing stopping you going back to the information in the 1st or 2nd! I won't spoil things by going in to what the remaining envelopes contain - you'll have to "crack the case" yourself to find out! Unless you have a really poor memory this is a sort of one and done game though as on a second play through you already know the result. That is the only downside to it and I did debate removing a star because of that BUT as I already knew that going in I decided that would be churlish. Our Adult Son has already asked if he can take it for one of his quarterly game nights with his friendship group - he's seem how much we are enjoying it and thinks it will make a nice change from DND or MTG for the group.

Typos
A few typos within the documents make it a bit less professional than I’d hoped but it was a fun game.

An immersive experience for the whole family
As a family of wannabe detectives who have grown up playing games like Cluedo and watching TV programmes like Silent Witness, NCSI and true crime series etc we are always keen to put our skills, albeit untrained, to the test. My daughter has recently started a course at college which includes forensics and criminology and they actually use these case file games as part of their training. This game comes nicely packaged in a robust slip file that makes it feel even more like the real thing. Inside the file comes 4 labeled envelopes which all contain a wealth of documents and information, which you open in order to help you solve the case. What I like about this game is you can take things at your own pace. If you’re new to this type of game you may want to take things slowly, so you can absorb everything and really get immersed into it. Or if you're a seasoned pro at this type of whodunnit game you may want to race through it to see how quickly you can solve the crime. The game certainly gets your brain working overtime and is a great way to get everyone working together, talking through theories to solve the crime, this is a nice change where traditionally games are pitted against each other for an overall winner. We enjoyed playing this game with a few drinks and nibbles as we worked through all the envelopes, although not too much drink as it could obscure our mental and cognitive abilities. The only downside to this type of game is that it’s almost a one time play, as once it’s solved it’s over and doesn’t have too much replay value. This is where the price is tricky, for entertainment value it’s easily 5 stars, but the replay value is reduced, hence why I only give the game 4 stars overall.

An addictive must for any murder mystery or true crime fans! Superb!
This murder mystery game is superb! Me and my wife spent Sunday afternoon absolutely hooked to the twists and turns of this case. All you need is this game and access to the internet and you are good to go. So where to start? The level of detail in the case file is incredible—it feels like you’re genuinely stepping into the shoes of a detective. From the suspect profiles to the evidence reports, everything is laid out in a way that keeps you guessing and thinking critically the whole time. What I really enjoyed was how immersive it is. You’re not just reading clues; you’re connecting the dots, examining motives, and piecing together the puzzle bit by bit. It took us about four hours to solve, which is perfect for a fun afternoon or evening with friends or family. It’s challenging but not impossible, making it rewarding when you finally crack the case. If you’re a fan of true crime or just enjoy a good mystery, this is a fantastic way to channel your inner detective. It’s a great buzz when you solve the crime and its definitely left us craving us more. If I could give it more stars out of five I would! Its the best interactive game I've played for years. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a unique and engaging game night!
