When your old sometimes simplicity is your friend
This product is replacing a Cobra, 2 camera 7.1 inch screen system. There is no comparison between the two. Picture clarity is everything that was advertised. The setup is much easier than similar products, and the controls meet all my needs.I was not interested in pairing with a phone or computer, it simply allows me to see when packages are delivered, or when guests are arriving.

Solid security camera system
This camera system is exactly what I was looking for. No WI-FI needed. It was a little tricky get all the electric run to each camera but it's nice not to have to worry about batteries. The cameras have decent video quality and the screen is nice too. The camera system is easy to use to set up alerts, recording and viewing recordings. One camera is out in the open so it gets rain and snow and so far hasn't had any issues. There is no option for viewing the video feed from an app or any apart from the included screen but I knew that going into it. It's a completely closed system which is what I wanted. I'm happy with the system so far. Would definitely recommend.

Pretty good system
I have had the Defender system with four cameras for about three months. Below are some observations / experiences:• The cameras can be turned on/off individually.• Night vision can be turned on/off individually.• The night vision is good and bright. Looks like light snow when it is foggy out.• Motion detection works best when moving across the camera’s field of view rather than directly at the camera.• Videos are stored on a microchip. Each 15 second video is two or three megabytes.• The microchip can be removed and inserted into your home personal computer for viewing and file saving.• The videos are a bit “herky-jerky” on the Defender display – a little less so when viewed on your personal computer.• Video clips are stored by date/time on a calendar type display for easy retrieval.• An icon appears on the screen when videos are available for viewing.• All four cameras can be displayed at one time, or one camera can be selected for display. Also, the display can be set to scroll through the various cameras.• The display can be set to sleep mode, just like a personal computer. While in sleep mode, if a camera detects motion, the display will be activated for the duration of motion on that camera. Then it will return to sleep mode.• In an online chat, the vendor stated that the cameras are rated for 104°F to 32°F. Where I live, the temperatures can drop way below that. So far this winter, the coldest temperature has been 8°F. The cameras were still working at that temperature.

Easy to Operate
This is exactly what I wanted. The detail on the Amazon site enabled me to get why I wanted: 1-Operates intuitively, just a glance at the instructions and I'm good to go. 2-I did not want solar. 3-Good night vision. I like it so much that I bought one for my sister.

Wouldn't recommend*Update:Completely Useless*
***UPDATE*** THESE CAMERAS ARE NOT WEATHERPROOF! One good rain rendered one camera useless. Complete crap, picture is blurry and distorted, frequently cuts out & glitches on/off. Sensors suck so I set it to record constantly. Cannot rely on this for security purposes, sad to have wasted money for nothing. Not quite what I was expecting for the price, but I may have been spoiled in the past with better camera systems. It works fairly well during the day, decent picture up to about 40' away. Sensors pick up movement about half the time. It's great if you have time to sit and watch the screen all day, but I don't trust it to catch everything and nobody's got that kinda time. I was so unimpressed, I haven't even set up the other two cameras yet, if i ever will. Oh, and the crackle sound from even a slight breeze makes me want to throw the monitor against a wall. Can't zoom in on playback either. Wouldn't buy it again and definitely Wouldn't recommend.

Easy to set up, and now has a bigger, 10", monitor screen.
We have this system and really like it. I just bought a second system because I like the first one so much, and this second one is for checking on my outdoor poultry coops at night. If I were to request one thing from the manufacturer, it would be to offer the option to buy an even larger monitor. The smaller (7"?) one and the 10" are both great, but I'd love a big one. What you see occurring at night is quite entertaining and fun to watch. We love seeing the wildlife that ambles by, and it's a nice system for security too, of course.

Its good but overpriced.
Its okay. I took a star off because it's overpriced and system a bit dated. It worked good at first, but then the monitor is pixeling and picture is grainy. Either the monitor isn't the best and/or it got hacked into. Otherwise, its easy to set up and plug and play.
