I picked up the AirPods 4 as a replacement for my original first-generation AirPods, which were clearly on their last legs. Battery life was unreliable (especially in cold weather), call quality was becoming hit-and-miss, and the Lightning cable was starting to feel like unnecessary friction given all my other devices use USB C. I spent a fair bit of time debating whether to go for the AirPods 4 with ANC, or even stretch to the Pros, but in the end I’m very glad I went with the standard AirPods 4 - particularly at the discounted price of around £99. For my real-world use (lots of calls while walking outdoors), these hit the sweet spot. For call quality and outdoor use (the main reason I bought them) my voice is picked up clearly, calls are stable, and people on the other end hear me - I’m sure just as well as they ever would with ANC enabled. Wind reduction is fine but not dramatically better than older models - but importantly, if you’re considering these versus the version with ANC, my research tells me the pricier pair doesn’t improve on this anyway. If hands free calls are your priority, these more than do the job. Battery & reliability is a night-and-day improvement over Gen 1. Cold weather no longer causes random shutdowns, and they easily handle long winter walks without anxiety. Battery life feels dependable again, which was honestly the biggest upgrade for me. Sound quality is noticeably cleaner and more balanced than Gen 1. Music and podcasts sound fuller, and while there’s no active noise cancelling here, I’ve never felt like I’m missing out for casual listening while walking. The good: - Excellent value at ~£99 - Huge battery and reliability upgrade over Gen 1 - Clear, reliable call quality (even outdoors) - USB-C charging (finally) - Lightweight, comfortable, and familiar fit - No unnecessary features driving up the price What could be better: - No ANC or transparency modes (though this is expected at this price and is a fair trade off) - Wind noise is still audible on calls - Would’ve loved the new live translation functionality from the pros, but again the omission is more than fair given the price! Bottom line - if you’re upgrading from first-generation AirPods and care most about reliable calls, battery life, and everyday usability, the standard AirPods 4 are the best value option. At £99, these feel like a very safe, lowest-regret purchase.

I gave these 4 stars because they are very good overall, but not perfect. The sound quality is clean and balanced. Vocals are clear and the bass is decent without being overpowering. They are a solid upgrade for everyday listening, especially for music, videos, and calls. The fit is comfortable and lightweight. I can wear them for long periods without discomfort. They sit securely in the ear, which is good for daily use. Battery life is reliable and lasts through the day with normal use. Charging is quick and the case is compact, so it is easy to carry around. However, there are a few downsides. The lack of full noise cancellation means they are not ideal in very loud environments. Also, the fit may not suit everyone, especially if you prefer in ear tips for better isolation.

So worth the money! I used apple wired earpods for the last 10 years and was stubborn to change, but honestly the airpods are so much better!! Great quality, so convenient, battery way better than expected, comfortable

i was a bit skeptical about whether these were real or not after reading the reviews but they just arrived and they were 100% real. they automatically connected to my iphone, coming up as airpods and they have the small silver band on the back. they didn’t have the 4 small holes on the bottom of the case which made me doubt it but i looked into it and because i didn’t get the noise cancelling or the pros, they don’t come with the small holes. they work really well and i love them and im so happy they’re real- i would 100% recommend!!

I tried EarPods some years ago and found them incredibly uncomfortable. I’ve always hankered after a pair and I’ve watched the design change with each iteration. When these went on a deal at under £100 I couldn’t resist and I have to say I’m absolutely thrilled with them. Although hard plastic, these sit in the ear without causing discomfort. Very fast to charge and the charge lasts for hours. I don’t wear them all day, just an hour or so in bed at night and I’ve only charged once in the last three weeks. The case is solid and easy to charge. I bought an inexpensive silicon cover to protect it and to provide a carry hook if I want to attach the case securely to my bag. The controls are intuitive and set up was an absolute breeze. Plays from an older and current iPhone almost immediately. And here’s the thing. The sound is superb. I have branded headphones, Bose and B and O but I’ve heard notes from these buds that I’ve never heard before. Listening to familiar tracks has become a revelation as I hear a whole new dimension. The sound is superb. Distinct bass, clear mids and trebles , no muffling and every instrument is there. Blown away and as an o,def user, well past pension age, that takes some doing. Go for it.

J'utilise ces AirPods principalement avec mon iPhone et l'expérience est excellente. L'appairage est quasiment instantané et la connexion reste stable en permanence. Une fois dans les oreilles, on les oublie rapidement grâce à leur légèreté. La qualité audio est très bonne pour écouter de la musique, des vidéos ou des podcasts. Les voix sont claires, le son est équilibré et le volume maximal est largement suffisant pour mon utilisation. J'apprécie également la qualité des microphones pendant les appels. Les personnes avec qui je discute m'entendent clairement, même lorsque je suis à l'extérieur. L'autonomie est largement suffisante pour une journée d'utilisation classique et le boîtier permet de les recharger rapidement lorsque nécessaire. La recharge USB-C est également un vrai plus. Ce ne sont pas les écouteurs les moins chers du marché, mais l'intégration avec l'écosystème Apple, la simplicité d'utilisation et la qualité générale du produit justifient largement l'investissement.

These are amazing AirPods, they are definitely one of the best apple has made. Don’t worry about people in the reviews saying it’s fake, it is completely real and from apple and my box wasn’t damaged nor opened. The sound quality is really good. My ears are very small and they fit perfectly and do not fall out, make sure you put them at an angle as you should with any type of AirPods, they do hurt after around 2 hours of wearing them consistently but that’s with every type of AirPod not just apples fault. They are very loud but don’t leak sound as much as people say, I’ve tested them out myself and yes if you do put them at an extremely loud volume they do leak but people exaggerate it. I would recommend getting them when there’s a deal, if you are stuck between noise cancelling and without just keep in mind buying them at a discount and if you really love noise cancelling and always use it, buy noise cancelling but these are very loud as well and I can rarely hear anything around me anyway even at a medium volume so noise cancelling won’t make a big difference, I recommend these a lot for people who don’t care as much or just want good quality AirPods.
