They're clear. I can see what's in them, so the label seems a bit like a hat on a hat.I was unsure I'd like the plastic tray they give you to hold them. It's OK quality, but a little cheap. That being said, my old ones were in a metal carrier with a handle. That was nice, but it's really common to accidentally activate these when you pick them up and the plastic tray catches the salt and pepper. My wire carrier didn't. That makes for less cleanup for me, and less waste too, since I can just use the stuff that ends up in the tray.Only time can tell how well these hold up, but my initial reaction is that these are punching well above their price point.
