Helpful and works for me.
This toilet aid has lasted well, I have one in each loo. I personally find it easier to use by reaching behind rather than from the front and holding towards the middle where the hand grip starts. I find the shape suits well ergonomically and it’s easy to keep clean. I do find it works much better using wipes, it’s keeps them held in place and releases them successfully using the push release mechanism. I have found that loo paper does tend to roll up or fall off and is harder to release - the grip is good so the paper tends to rip and some bits get stuck in the between the grips. I think a few tries to get best wipe/paper wrapping techniques, preference and positioning is needed to work out what may suit your needs best - everyone is very different after all.

Toilet Aid - does the job
It does the job, but the part that holds the toilet paper should be more modified so it grips the toilet paper better.

Helps but not for long
I have x 3 of these. The first one lasted a good while before the spring started playing up. The second not as long and the third hasn't worked very well from the start. As I have a selection they are not used daily so not sure whether that is value for money. They only cost £12 so do you expect them to last for more than a year? They still sort of do the job but I have to relocate the spring release to detatch the paper each time now on all of them and the last one I only bought a month ago as I was going away. A handy helper I can't do without.

No Good
Not GreatI bought this because I have had to have surgery in my right dominant hand and I thought it would help!It doesn’t,the wrapping round of the loo roll is awkward when trying to tuck it in the narrow slit.As soon as you touch anything with it the paper moves and the the wiper bit is exposed. As for pressing the button to drop the soiled paper in the koi, forget it, it just does NOT do that so you have to lay the thing down and physically off with the same hand you were using it with.I had 2 surgeries in one a trapeziectomy and carpal tunnel and it was drummed into me at the hospital not to use the my hand for anything as there is a lot of healing and all I am allowed to do is take my splint off for exercises. This thing is very inadequate and very very unhygenic and that’s putting it mildly!.Please don’t waste your money

Useful, though not 100% reliable
As someone who is disabled (with MS) and has difficulty both standing and gripping things, I am always looking for things that may make my life a bit/lot easier. So when I saw this gadget and the reviews, I thought it might be useful for my needs and it was worth spending £13 to see if it would work for me. The first few uses of it have proved that it is quite useful and mostly does the job that it is designed to do. Certainly attaching toilet paper to it is easy and it does hold it. But the latter bit of the last sentence is the problem. It holds the paper TOO well. In fact it is getting the gadget to let go of the paper that is one of the problems. I am repeatedly pushing the base of it, and I know it works as I can feel it pushing through the inside, but the paper just seems to cling on and will not let go. I shake the paper a bit, and have made a small pen mark at the base to show the side that has got the gripper on it, so the paper can try to drop out of the gripper when pushed, but still it is reluctant to let go.Incidentally, I have tried the gadget using both a cheap Supermarket's Own Brand and also the Market Leader (the one associated with cute Golden Labrador puppies). Both of these work the same with the device. But i am persistant, and will not be putting it back in its box any time soon. Maybe there is a knack for using it and that eventually, after quite a few goes, it will work every time and I will wonder what my problem was, though looking at other reviews I might not be so lucky. But I will keep on trying and hope that eventually it works every time.

Upsettlingly helpful
I didn’t want this product. I didn’t want to have to need this product. I didn’t like the idea of this product. In short, I was embarrassed, ashamed and in denial that I needed this product.Spinal surgery threw all of that out of the window! Rather than relying on my kids or my parents to wipe me - with this - I could wipe my own ass. It’s a practical bit of kit and I used it with eco-bamboo- ultra - don’t shout at me because they biodegrade - wipes. (Tissue just ripped) You poke a bit of wipe in the grabby hole thing, wrap it around and secure it in the grabby hole thing. There’s a button on the end (it does make sense). And when you are done - with wiping yourself in such a new and unexpected manner (but still better than having someone else do it) in a pain free state - because, after spinal surgery - you just can’t reach - you poke the button at the other end and the wipe falls away.It works, it’s really really really helpful and I’m glad I had it. It can be a bit glitchy and I’m not going to include photos - because no-one needs to see that! Essentially, its an ass wiper that you wrap a wipe around when tou just cant reach - and it works

Great for reach !
I brought this when I hurt my back and was having trouble moving and bending etc .....the extra length was brilliant and allowed me to wipe my bottom !Now to the bad bits ......1st the paper would not release when the release button was pressed and I had to remove the paper by hand !2nd....on the 2nd use I pressed the release button a little harder to release the paper which it did but in the process the release mechanism broke so it would no long work !!!All in all a brilliant idea ..it just needs those 2 things sorting out !!

Wonderful product
I bought this for my dad who has ALS. He can't use his hands very well anymore and apparently can't reach his "behind" very well. But he said it worked very well for him and that the shape was just right! Also good to know is that he could easily press the button so that the toilet paper or wipe drops. Easy too clean too.So it's definitelyrecommend by the sound of it. 🤭

I was skeptical but now I’m not
As someone who has become disabled and has a difficulty reaching, I needed something that could help. I felt I should leave a review as this item is not a fun one to shop for, and even being in a position of needing one can feel a bit overwhelming. I have mastered how to use this one. I will say it took some practice on learning how much toilet paper squares works best. I use 6 squares. Putting the tissue on the device can also take a little getting used. But I take the six squares and fold them in half. Then fold that about three fourths in half. Then I press the 2 layers side in the back and carefully wrap the rest of the tissue around and then press the remaining 4 layers into the back with the 2 other layers. The 6 layers of tissue create enough tension to hold the tissue in place. You will likely get only one wipe. It is not designed to rub back and forth. Tissue will fall off with that action. But once you master it, it works great. I’m happy to be able to get myself clean. And that means a lot to me and my self respect.
