All the rods and accessories you need.
This is a great kit. The keyword for me is this is a KIT. It has every attachment and accessory that you can think of to try and help make your next wire fishing project a success. Not only does the kit have enough fiberglass rods to make it through any wall/crawlspace, the attachments that are included are next level. Hooks, rings, magnets and loops are all included to help you attach what ever it is you need to pull through the wall. This is just fantastic and really helps you do the job right, and not lose your wire half way through a wall and have to start all over again.I've used my old fish tape for years and years, and it has worked great, but I'm realizing that I've been spending way too much time getting the wires attached and making a pull package to send through a wall. This kit addresses this nicely, and so far it made the last couple of projects a breeze. I recently added a light switch and outlet, used these to run the wires through an un-insulated wall from the attic to outlet/fixture. Attaching the wire was easy. Spinning together the length I needed was easy. Cleanup and storage was easy.Sometimes I need to make sharp bends in my wire pulls, or when I'm trying to get into a weird spot. These fiberglass rods do bend, but you're not going to get 90 degree bends out of them. I also wish that these came in something that would be nicer for storage. It just comes in plastic packaging, which isn't ideal for storage. I'm using an old tent pole bag, but all the accessories just fall to the bottom and you have to dump everything out. A little case with an area for the rods and an area for the attachments would have been amazing.I am very happy with this wire pulling kit.

Easier to access
Having shorter sections makes this product more versatile in tight spaces. Normal 5 foot sections makes between floors and other tight spots harder. The ability to have shorter section with equal lengths makes for easier installs. The attachments that come with the product make retrieving wires through walls with insulation a breeze. Very flexible as well.

Works, But a Little Too Thin
We will need to run some electrical line through our attic crawlspace, so we ordered this GURADESIGN brand 16.8FT Fiberglass Wire Glow Rods with 6 Different Attachments.First off, they don't "glow" as the description implies. It is a bright yellow color but not "day-glow yellow" or anything, so expect to use a light source if you want to see it in a dark attic or crawlspace. The pieces screw together easily, but also unscrew easily, so you may want to tape them together as you add sections.I'd have preferred one that was thicker since this one flexes so much. I need to mostly use this for a straight run that passes over some obstacles, and since I will have to use the entire length of this, I really need one that is a bit stiffer. This one may work, but it will be a lot more frustrating to use the longer it gets. The so-called "plastic storage case" is just the flimsy product packaging and is mostly disposable, so minus a star for that bit of marketing humbug. The current price of $12.59 is a so-so deal, in my opinion. I think $10 would be a more realistic price for how thin it is and the lack of an actual storage case.

Solid fish rod set, does NOT glow
I have a number of steel fish tapes for running wires in my DIY projects, but they're pretty useless when you have to either push the fish tape or try to control the direction that the fish tape goes in. In the past I've had to improvise, using everything from pipes to narrow rips of wood, so when I saw this set, I ordered it. I don't need this set's capabilities all the time, but when I do, I really need it.My initial impressions are that this is a good fish rod set. I don't have anything to compare it to, but the rod sections thread together smoothly and seem to connect solidly. The brass ferrules on either end of the rod sections feel attached solidly (they're crimped onto the fiberglass rods). And there's an assortment of ends depending on whether you're needing to hook onto something, attach a wire you're pulling or snagging something with the magnet. I noticed that some of the end attachments have female fittings while others have male fittings. I would have thought you'd want them all to be either female or male, but maybe there's a logic that I'm missing. The magnet end attachment is reasonably powerful for being a pretty small magnet, but don't expect it to really be able to pick up heavy things. And for some reason the hook won't thread directly into the rod end; its threaded portion is too narrow so there's an adapter. I would think it would have made more sense to eliminate the adapter and just have the hook sized so it would thread directly into the rod.The rods themselves are moderately flexible; not nearly as flexible as a steel fish tape, but that's sort of why I got them. You're not going to be able to bend them around tight corners, but they do have some give. My only potential complaint is that the brass ferrules on the ends of the rods are larger in diameter than the rod and the shoulder between the ferrule and the fiberglass rod is flat, so that presents a little bit of an area where the rods can snag on things. It would have been better if the ferrule shoulders were tapered to minimize the chance that the get hung up on things. A wrap of electrical tape should help, but it would be nice if that wasn't necessary. One important note: The product listing says that these are glow rods, which I took to mean that they glow in the dark. I can confirm that they definitely do not glow in the dark, not even the tiniest bit after being exposed to a super bright LED flashlight.

A compact design
I was surprised when this was delivered. I had a set of these already that I have owned for 20 years. They're in a tube and the tube itself is almost 4 ft long and everything's inside. When I saw this and seeing the different accessories I decided to get it. When it arrived before I open the box I thought for sure they sent me the wrong thing. They changed the way they make these and it's 100% better. Now this fits in my electrical bag so I can take it with me whatever I go over to help somebody. I really thought I was just buying the accessories and that the fiberglass poles would be useful if I needed to add more length to my original one. Now I probably will never use the first ones I bought ever again. This is far better than mine then the one I bought for long ago.
