## Overview

The Altra Men's Escalante 4 is a lightweight (9.5 oz) running shoe featuring a breathable engineered knit upper and a roomy FootShape toe box for natural toe splay. It incorporates Altra's signature zero drop platform with a 24 mm stack height and responsive Altra EGO midsole foam for balanced cushioning and energy return. Designed for road running and everyday wear, its flexible rubber outsole ensures durability and traction, making it a versatile choice for fast training runs and casual use.

## Description

Simplified and refreshed. We built the Escalante 4 as a nod to the fan-favorite Escalante 1.5, with FootShape fit, greater flexibility, and a lighter weight. Tackle fast training runs, daily walks, or everyday errands in this streamlined and versatile road-mile destroyer. It’s got an engineered knit upper for a more sock-like and forgiving fit, with a knit tongue, just like the original Escalante. We evolved the rubber midsole for a lighter weight and more flexibility so you can feel connected to the road. A new footbed feels more like the iconic Escalante 1.5 and 2.0, with the same Altra EGO™ midsole foam for responsiveness and comfort. Move the way you were designed to with a roomy toe box to help your toes move freely and zero drop. How did we pack so much comfort and style into such a simple shoe? Lace it up, take it out, and see for yourself!

Review: Altra - I have very high arches and was experiencing a lot of pain in the soles of my feet, specifically my heels. After much research, I found Altras, and they have been a lifesaver. They are very lightweight, have the perfect height, and a wide toe box. I have been using them for several months, and the soles of my feet no longer hurt. I love them, and I will soon buy another pair.
Review: Comfy - Great shoes with a foot shaped toe box!

Great shoes with a foot shaped toe box!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Running Shoes
*by B***N on 21 August 2024*

These are great running shoes that are comfortable and with a wide toe box. However, they were not black like advertised for some reason. I had to use the Kaps Black Colour Restore for Sneakers to change them black, which you can see from the before and after pictures. The lighting is slightly off, but I used a pair of black sketchers as a reference and so that you can see the difference. Apart from that, these are really good quality running shoes that are also quite stylish.
